Spent a few hours in the studio yesterday with the wee one trying to capture that tender moment.

Sniff ... sniff ...

Oh my goodness ... I can't say which one I like best ... maybe the bear hat!

She is utterly marvelous ... just like two other people I know ...

Adorable! Care to share any tips on getting good pictures of kids? (We do an annual session with a pro, but it's all the moments in between I want to capture.). Oh, and I do regret we didn't do a newborn session. Those pictures will be prized by the parents!

A couple quick tips.

- always carry a camera where ever you go, sorry phone cameras don't count.

- shoot at their level

- focus the camera on the face

- if you can control the f stop, shoot wide open

- avoid flash if possible

- try to be inconspicuous and not draw attention to the camera

She's got a lot of hair!

How old is she?

We got newborn photos done for our daughter, and they were totally worth it.

She is 9 days old. These were taken a week after birth. There is a narrow window of about two weeks for this type of portraiture as they don't sleep as soundly after that. So they say.

Nothing that a sip of Guiness couldn't fix.  Cute kid.
