Subject: RE: Best Non MDot HIM and IM Races"I've heard good things on Great Floridian, and I'll be running it this year. So I'll let you know in 11 weeks or so. The negatives I know about are the murky water, some surprisingly steep rollers on the bike, and limited shade on the run. I've done a bunch of shorter races in that Lake, and it's never really bothered me. The shade on the run deal is what worries me. On the plus side, I've heard the support is good, and I bike in Atlanta, so I'm growing to love hills."
Its a great race, tough bike course if they still follow the old course. The water is clean just stained fron the tannens (sp ) from the tree roots. Go to the website, they used to have pictures of Sugarloaf Mt. on it, it is very steep and there are 3 to 4 good hills close to it. Fred Summers does a good job, what makes the race so good is that is has a good local feel to it. A good value also |
