All I can say is Good for her!!

Looks like they had a celebrity division that included, among others Andy Baldwin and Matthew McConaughey

Lots of "discussions" on this one already.

Malibu always has a celebrity division, has for years.

She finished, she raised a lot of money, but she pizzed off Heidi Klum by bailing out on Project Runway claiming a foot injury.  Then she runs the race with no issues and no brace/support for her foot.

Bad form .......

Oddly enough, I never saw her the whole day (my wife did, when J-Lo was presenting a donation check or some such).

Matthew McConnaghey, on the other hand, followed right behind my wife and me all the way from the TA to the pre-race briefing.

Damn stalker....

(Seriously, though, McConnaghey had a strong race...about a top 10% O/A finish. J-Lo...not so much...pretty much FOBOP. I like the celebs in the race, though...good for awareness of the sport, but good for fitness awareness more generally, IMO. In two years of doing the race, I've barely noticed the celeb presence, quite frankly...certainly hasn't had an impact on my day either time.)

I likedthe photo of her on her bike. You'd expect someone of her stature to have the best (most expensive) equipment even if she dosent need it. But she used what looks like a $200 bike with cage-pedals. Classic.

I have always considered her to be a cronic partier. but this shows she has quite a bit of self determination and strength of character. I applaud her for a job well done.

That is soo cool! It is also nice to see that they did not have THE BEST in brand names for gear.

Grats to Lopez. So she is a celebrity. We all know, that you do one, and you want more.

I saw this on the TV last night. After his time was posted, I started running it through my head and that was a very solid time.

Why thank you...flattery will get you everywhere.

And relative to her T1 time: she ran the race that made her comfortable.  She put on wrist bands and gloves.  But more than that - with 3000 athletes, the chute of bikes was HUGE and she was at the far end.  The run up from the beach was tough, so good on her I say.

Saw her story on TV last night. They were calling her "iron woman". Looked like a rolling photo-op to me. I get sick of the hollywood elite.

It's the media you should be sick of not the "Hollywood elite". She didn't call herself "iron woman".

I agree about the media. I just think that normal people do amazing things everyday but that America is mesmerized by a "star" going through the motions. I just am not into "star" worship.

Absolutely, but not sure if she just "went through the motions" she had to train just the same as the rest of us beginners. I totally agree with you about the "star" worship.

I'm going to my LTS today and buy some Sweatbands for the wrists.  I didn't know they were such a necessary item...  Click once on the rimshot.

I have a whole new level of respect for her given that I took an ice bath and a nap on Sunday and she flew to New York and appeared in heels and a dress at her husbands B-day party in NYC that day.  I am a lazy slob.
