Subject: I hate geneticsA buddy of mine, whose lunch is normally comprised of Taco Bell or McDonalds, and eats pretty much whatever he wants for dinner, is the most "ripped" guy I've ever met. He plays soccer for his college team and is one of their star players. He practices twice a week with the team and plays games. That's all.
Another guy who I just met has chicken wing eating contests every Friday night. We went out last night and he ordered a plate of cheese fries and a few beers. He began training for triathlons at the same time as me and has placed in his AG in 4 of 5 races he's competed in - even winning one of them. His training volume is about half of what mine is.
I have a near-perfect diet. The only time I eat foods that aren't super healthy are after races (about once a month ). I eat a variety of lean meats, fruits, veggies and wheat pastas. I train as consistently as I possibly can and when I raced a sprint against the aforementioned tri-guy, he came in about 5 minutes before me.
They should start making categories for people born with natural athletic ability. I hate losing to the chicken-wing guy.
