Subject: RE: Y'all guys do triathlons....Most languages have a 2nd-person plural ("vosotros" in Spanish, "euch" in German, etc etc. ) so it makes sense for English to have a different word than "you" to imply a group of people to whom you are speaking directly. Y'all should be proper. But alas, it ain't... I think what the fella at the pool was saying was "You guys, who are in such awesome shape, do triathlons? Triathlons sound like they can be a lot of fun." Either that or he means you and the mouse in your pocket... |
