Just a shame it means so little to everyone but bankers and federal employees. I'm in the former group, so I'm off today, waiting for the appliance repairman (who'll be here between 9am and 2pm), then I'll go do the long run I bagged yesterday due to the cold, maybe go shopping or to a movie if I have time. Not very presidential activities, I guess.

Cigar, blue dress, and the right intern might be fun. Too bad I'm a Republican. Anyone want to go quail hunting?

I was shocked to find out my kids still have school.  The older grades are out but the elementary schools are in session.  Last night my son came down with a bad temp and is sick, and is going to miss school anyway.  Maybe he's protesting?  Great, I've got an almost-six-year-old-activist on my hands.

Lower thirties with rain. I've run in the teens, you're not going to get a medal for that. I just chose not to knowing that I had today to make it up. Ten degrees warmer today, and no rain.

My run is supposed to be 14 miles, not the piddly three you did. I'm sure I traversed three miles outside yesterday, just didn't think to call it "a run."

Four day weekend, kids have no school Friday and Monday.  Friday was a "professional day" and today is "Presidents Day".    So here I am still in my jammies, all they want to do is lay around and veg out.  huh.

I guess I"ll be productive, spend tmie here and search for a new job.

Madison, WI.  45 square miles surrounded by reality.  Wink

A seriously fun place to go watch college football and get tipsy, though.  On second thought, its a fun place to get tipsy no matter what the circumstance.

I got a 1/2 day off here in Shreveport, because the roads were closed due to icy bridges. So I guess I can celebrate Vice-President's day off, since I only got a 1/2 day off.

Am I the only employee from a Corporate America who gets a day off today?  I hornored today by doing tax return, and I'm getting money back

It's been a while since I had a relaxing day.  Slept in, ate breakfast, did tax, out for a run, back for lunch.

My job used Presidents day as it's "floating holiday."  So the child is in daycare, wife is at her office and I'm working in the basement, finishing shelves in a storage room and moving crates around so we can clean up and then make it messy again with insulation and drywall.   YEAH!!!!   It's almost 2p here, started about 8am, and have a lot done.

Wifey will be happy.
