What is it specifically that people like about Palin about her policies? I agree she is smokin' hot but I don't hear much about where she stands on policy. I'll bite. When Sarah was first announced I REALLY liked her for two (ok 3) reasons. - She was a complete Washington outsider with a track record of cutting spending. The problem with Washington (on both sides) is that no matter who gets in they're exactly the same as every one else and continue to propagate the BS spending that everyone else does. The only difference between the parties is what the money gets spent on.
- She was the closest thing to a regular citizen running for an office of that level. She has actually bought her own groceries and taken her kids to practice versus having a fleet of Nannies do it for her. The fact that she wasn't a Harvard Grad, "I know everything" kind of person was very appealing to me.
- She is really hot. She came to Omaha to give a speech that I attended. Came out in high heel boots and a mini skirt. You don't see that everyday from a politician.

She's obviously been fully absorbed in the political system now so both 1 & 2 are pretty much moot at this point, but 3 is still a valid reason to like her. My number one barometer for a politician is to be a fiscal conservative. I care much less about positions on global warming, abortion, gay marriage, or any other of the hot button issues. I simply care about stopping the freeking spending, we're broke. In the 2008 race, She was the only one that had at least a little bit of an inkling towards cutting spending. McCain, Obama, and Biden certainly weren't going to cut anything. |
