Which two bikes would you have out of these?

Also, if you choose the road bike and the tri bike option, do you have clip on aero bars for the road bike?

I'm not particularly keen on cyclocross and just use the mountain bike to to up the road, to friends houses and hit up a few trails during the winter, I don't use it for training much.

i find mountain biking extremely fun - i just don't do it as much as i'd like to/should. .. so i vote mtn bike and tri bike, as that is what i have!

I need both a road bike and a tri bike just because I do race on the road as well as duathlons... even if I didn't race as well, I would still have both... too common that groups dislike tri bikes in group rides... plus I don't know if I would do the major climbs (Mt. Ventoux etc.) on a tri bike...

I am waaaaaay too pretty to get on a mountain bike.. seriously, a boy could get hurt on one of those. I ride my roadie about 50% of the time, and would never give her up. It may be because I come from a roadie backround.... Out of all the guys I ride with, none of them are tri guys, and I live in PA, so we do a lot of hills and country rides, so the roadie is nice for those. Also a lot of riding for me is just as much social hour as workout, and really love that time and wouldn't ever want to do without it. I do also have a kick butt beach cruiser too... So i am really a 3 bike guy.

If I could only have two bikes I'd be very sad....probably cross and tri bike though as I race both of them..not so much into road racing.

I really want a 4th bike and get a mountain bike.

If you had a tri bike, why in heck would you want a road bike with clip-ons?  Doesn't make sense to me .....

I dont have a tri bike but I want/need one, so that would have to be my first pick.  The mountain bike would seem like a logical second choice except I dont ride downhill or anything and I would be hard pressed to give up my hybrid with touring tires.  I can tour, ride gravel roads and trails so I guess its...

I wouldn't have any of those options.

I'd have a Custom Ti Independent Fabrications Cyclocross bike and a mountain bike.

Choosing which mountain bike would be a really tough call but more then likely it would either be similar to the mountain bike I have now, a Santa Cruz Chameleon, or a 5 or 6 inch travel All mountainish bike. If I stuck with the hardtail, the only thing I would change, and it's a good possibility that I will do it in the next year or so, is get a steel hardtail and add S&S couplers to make it travel friendly.

I have a tri bike, a road bike, and a fixed gear.  I also have a second fixed gear at my vacation home in the land of the flat (Naples, Florida).  No need to ever change gears, although I do have two different cogs, two different chain rings, and two chains so I can change gearing while in the garage.

My wife also has a Mountain bike and a road bike at home (and she does not really bike other than for exercise) and a single speed mountain (old ghetto version) in Florida.  So, having only one more that she makes my stable look very lean.

Right now I only have one bike and it's a road bike.  I really want either a mountain bike or a cross bike -- I'm on the fence about which one to get, since a cross bike would be better than a mtb for riding in my city, and I'm interested in cyclocross, but I'm also interested in Xterra and I can't use a cross bike for that.

So my vote is for road + mtb -- I'd love to have a tri bike someday, but IMO it's the least versatile option for me (also, Pittsburgh has wicked hills and I probably couldn't get up a lot of them on a tri bike, plus my extreme shortness would make it hard to find a tri bike to fit my wee legs).  Since I'm so new to the sport and haven't gotten my fitness to where I want it yet, I'm BOP no matter what I'm riding, so I might as well have bikes that I can use for all different kinds of cycling.

I currently have a road bike (with clip ons) and a tri bike.  I don't have a need for another bike.  The road bike has clip ons still from when it was my only bike.  Haven't gotten around to taking them off because my bike computer is wired on it and I'm lazy about it.

If I could only have two, I'd pick a mountain bike/hybrid and a road bike with clip ons. That pair would give me the most versatility. I'd use the roadie for tris, centuries, etc. and the mountain bike for tooling around with my kid and general recreational riding that I wouldn't want to subject my road bike to.

I voted road & mountain. I don't have this combo, but it looked good.

I have 5 bikes, but none of them are a mountain bike. There's definitely at least 3 more bikes that I need to get: mountain, cross & TT/tri. I could give up one of my 3 road bikes if I had to.

It would be tough to get down to just one mountain bike!  Beyond the mountain bike (if I could ever narrow that down to just one) I wouldn't really care if the other bike was a Tri bike or a Road bike.  Pretty much the same thing, usage wise.  Dedicated strictly to solo training (when I don't have enough time to transport to the dirt) and triathlon's.  and at my current (and forseeable future) SBR fitness/skill level, I don't see my choice of bike making a difference in my overall finish order, and certainly not in my personal enjoyment level.  As to a free day with a few hours to go ride, I'm afraid the mountain bike wins every time...

Maybe once I break 1:45/100 or a 8min mile I'll worry more about the bike choice...

I don't think I could live with just 2 bikes anymore.  I like to have 2 tri bikes and a road bike.  Plus a MTB for riding with the kids.

1 Tri bike to experiment and one left alone for races.

Cervelo soloist consider as road or Tri?

I pick that bike with BOTH road and tri setup, and a mountain bike with lockout and both knobby & road rubber(as a hybrid).
