Nice job on your first race! Hydrilla? Never heard of it but if it's in the water and it's getting all over you, it doesn't sound fun! Good to see you stuck it out on the run and broke 10 minutes, to boot!

Congratulations on completing your first triathlon. That hydrilla must have been freaky during the swim. Great job.

WAY TO GO TRIATHLETE!!  WOO HOO!!

Ok, just so you know: you MAY wear your triathlon t-shirt for the next 5 days in a row (but please wash it when necessary); you may wear any finisher's medal for the next two weeks also; if you haven't washed the numbers off, don't - just wash around them until they fade away.

Enjoy the next week - then get back in there for the NEXT one!

yes, race #'s should not be washed, they are to wear off on their own.  My first set lasted a week...the second only lasted 3 days..they are badges of honor

congrats triathlete, welcome to the club!

Great job Courtney - the first one's down, and now you're ready for more! With a road bike and no Hydrilla in the water, you will be flying at your next triathlon!

Wooo hooo Courtney!!!! Way to go...now you are officially a Triathlete! That is so cool. No one can ever take that away from you. Wear your t-shirt and brag to everyone about what you did. No matter where you finish, you still are miles ahead of all those people who don't even get up off the sofa to try in the first place.

Great race...ya done good!

Nice job! Running the whole 5K is a huge accomplishment. I have my first ti this week and I hope I can do as well as you did. I am jealous you are doing a Muddy Buddy - they look like fun. I told my husband I am making him o one with me next summer.

Congratulations!

Courtney, nicely done. Don't be ashamed of your MTB -- it got you through the race. I hope Chad was yelling the loudest out of all your fan club!

You were passed by 100 cyclists too? Well that was me in June. And like me, next time you'll get off your bike only 30 places behind.

Congratulations on your first race - you did great! So funny - the name of your race totally took me back. I grew up in Boerne, so I went to Aquarena Springs as a kid (when it was an amusement park kind of thing and they had the underwater show with the mermaids and the swimming PIG!!! Not sure if that's still there or not). And I had forgotten all about hydrilla, but I quickly remembered. It clogs many lakes and streams in TX. That would have TOTALLY freaked me out to swim through that stuff, so great job keeping your cool.
