I have just bought a treadmill to run after work. Instead of changing into running attire I just run in my jocks. I figure its my house i'll run in whatever I damn well like.

Anyone?

Me chillaxing after 30 min at 16km an hour. Notice barely a drop of sweat, but shiney.

The day prior to the NYC Tri is the `underwear run' ... just one reason I may NOT defer. I wanna run in my skivvs on the streets of New York just like the Underwear Cowboy!

Don't things bounce around? That would seem uncomfortable for either gender.

Ok two things.

The guy in the front sporting the HR monitor made em laugh.

Listen closely as the runners go buy and you hear one of the women recording it say "How big is it" as 100 or so men in their undies run by.

What I don't get is an underwear run so important you need a heart rate monitor on?  It just baffles me.

A bit of slapage, but nothing painful....it's quite cool where the tradmill is.

I don't own a treadmill or I would Smile  I use the YMCA facilities and since they won't even let us watch Ellen because she doesn't represent "Christian Values" I don't think they'd be ok with me going 1/2 nekkid.  I think if my husband saw this thread I just might come home to a new treadmill in our bedroom Tongue out

KeriKadi, it's stories like that that make me sad for folks who live in Texas. Ellen doesn't represent "Christian values?" What a bunch of garbage. I'd threaten to sue them immediately! You can't be serious. Grrr....

on topic, boxers are just fine for ex. bike in the house. if I had a treadmill, running would be just fine in boxers too.

Well, the YMCA is a private Christian organization.  I was told if I breastfed in the lobby again my membership would be revoked!!!  Several of us complained about Ellen and while they won't start with the TV on her station if enough of us ask they will turn it to her station.  Of course all the TVs also only air FOX news unless someone says something.

Not to be die-hard conservative or anything, but "Their house, their rules"  If it is too unbearable, I am sure there are dozens of other sports clubs around Houston.

Back to topic - why not run in the skivvies or buff in your own casa - as long as your not doing it in the front room with the  blinds open.

Up until the late '50s and early '60s, swimsuits were banned in their pools.

Now they consider breastfeeding blasphemous?

Yep, you're right - their place, their rules.  I have the 5 kiddos so the YMCA works for us, plus they have a pool open year round.

I tried to pull the whole "Jesus was Breastfed" and reminded them that TX law supports women who chose to breastfeed wherever they happen to be.  They reminded me they reserve the right to refuse anyone.  Not sure if my "I Make Milk. What's Your Super Power?"  shirt hurt my cause.
I don't agree with all their policies but they treat my kids great and my girls LOVE going to their childcare center which makes my life SO much easier.  I wouldn't be able to work out nearly as much if my kids weren't happy.  Take the good with the bad.

Kerikadi, I'm still saddened by their ridiculous policy. Where is the responsibility at the head of the YMCA? How in the world does Ellen not represent Christian values? How in the world is breastfeeding a bad thing?? Are you kidding me??? Fox News on all the tv's? Ha, at least you can laugh your way through your workout.

I live in lower slower Delaware, and unfortunately, the Y's my only option for swimming. It makes me sick I'm giving money to an organization with its head (or part of its head) clearly up its...
