Master  1662     Flagstaff and Phoenix, AZ |  Subject: Lake Mary OWSLake Mary is full and warm this year! Is anyone who lives here or comes to visit interested in OWS? It has to be during the early morning hours because of the boat traffic and also because of the monsoon storms we get every day from now on. This Saturday is out for me because of the Taylor House Ride but I'm game any other day. Let's have our own OWS thread! Let's discuss! |

Master 1662 Flagstaff and Phoenix, AZ | Subject: RE: Lake Mary OWS I think I'll choose my bed over the camping (it's still monsoon season) but you're welcome to camp in my backyard with the guest futon as a dry back-up if you need it.  I'd be up for the ride after the swim for sure. Not on Saturday though, there's a 10K race on my schedule. |

My 10K swim is only 3 weeks away!!!! YIKES!!! Plus, I'll have my boyfriend in tow, to practice kayaking beside me and nutrition and he's not much of a cyclist, lol. Although If you wanted to do a hike a bit later in the day Robin, I am sure that we would be down for that! I have to stick to Sunday activities as I won't leave for Flagstaff until I get off of work Sat around 5pm and won't get there til after 7pm. |

Master 1662 Flagstaff and Phoenix, AZ | Subject: RE: Lake Mary OWS For the unidentified (Flagstaff) lurkers around this forum: Come out to Lake Mary next Monday, July 27, 7 a.m., for an OWS. I'll be at the boat ramp with members of the NAU TriJacks. It's much safer to swim in a group. And don't worry about pace. We'll regroup after short distances before continuing. Get your feet wet and practice for upcoming races. The lake is much warmer than usual too. No wetsuit needed. |

Master 1662 Flagstaff and Phoenix, AZ | Subject: RE: Lake Mary OWS So, to recap and remind people about this coming weekend's ESCKTC activities in cool Flagstaff: Saturday, 5 p.m. BBQ at my house. (PM me for directions.) Bring your own meat if you don't want chicken and veggies. I'll make some side dishes: potato salad, corn bread, green salad. I'll have wine and some beer. Bring whatever else you want. Sunday, 7 a.m. OWS at Lake Mary. (Parking is $5 and they do check!) Water temp is in the lower/mid 70s. Group ride after swim, along Lake Mary Rd, same route as Mtn Man but with options, whatever people are up for. |

I wanted to get in the neighborhood of 65 miles. But I also wanted to get what I could of an OWS in. ps - I'll be camping. Either by Lake Mary or near / around Astrid's backyard. I also will probably be out there before 7am since I want to be in the water for long and don't want to have to worry about boat traffic towards the end. Dean's doing his own thing on Sunday morning, but I plan to do some wetsuit swimming and biking before I have to head down the hill to pick Dean up in Prescott (at least I hope he makes it to Prescott!). |
