I'm glad that Miami finally won the NBA championship so they can finally stop talking about LeBron during the off season...

........5 minutes pass.........

Start of the 2012-2013 season!!!!

Really?  I barely had time to go to the bathroom during that offseason.

I don't care if you hate Lebron but you have to respect his talent. He has the potential, still, to become the best player ever. If he wins 3 or 4 more titles while continuing his incredible stats and playing defense at every spot, he will certainly have a good argument for it.

ETA: Stern effed over the Sonics, so I transferred my team loyalty to Lebron.

I rate that a D-

I'm SOOOOO glad you don't care if I hate LeBron or not.  I can sleep better.

First of all, I always LIKED Lebron.  I'm a fan.  I got tired of the constant LeBron bashing on sports radio all the time and was happy they can stop after he won.  Always respected his talent and probably the best all around player ever, and that's coming from someone who grew up with Jordan.

I was making light of the short off season and/or long season...  They barely have time to breath and enjoy the championship before they are back at it.

Sorry I wasn't referencing YOU, I was referencing you as in people in general. I'm also really excited to watch the brow in action and hoping the Lakers fall on their face, even though I love Steve Nash.

haha...  Sorry I reacted...

Yeah, I have not been this excited about an NBA season SINCE the Jordan days.

Lakers (and I'm in there region, so I can watch them A LOT!) sound great to watch.  And after the olympics, I'm looking forward to following Durant and Oaklohoma City a bit more.

Sitting in my office looking down at Staples Center, hoping that this experiment goes better than the Payton/Malone "title run" of a few seasons back.  At least if Howard can stay healthy there is some hope for the future.

Anything than a Lakers / Heat finale will be a shock.   The Heat only improved their roster in my opinion and the Lakers certainly did as well.  Bosh would get killed in the middle vs. Howard, but the lakers would also be vulnerable to outside shooting.  Interesting matchup none the less.

The regular season is somewhat becoming a non-event and teams are shooting for those 8 spots. If I was coaching either of these two teams, I would limit the playing time of my A+ players and build the chemistry and worry less about W & L's.  The Heat changed much of their game day strategy in each of the series they played.  The regular season was about getting into shape and avoiding injury, oh and making money from TV and ticket sales.  All that said, I will be glued to the Heat/Celtics game tonight!

for hockey, they would have to jump straight to the Playoffs.  Which at this rate, may happen!

For about an hour my Cavs were the number one seed in the East. I fear that they might become the next Atlanta Hawks though, that team that mires around in the 7th - 4th spot in the playoffs and can never get better. You need 4 straight years of bad basketball to have a chance these days. Or cap space and a fun city to attract your own big 3.

It was weird seeing Ray Allen in the Heat uniform. I am interested to see how loose LJ comes out this season. Now that he has won one, I think the others will come with less of a struggle.

I am not so sure the Lakers will completely gel together. It should be interesting to see if Kobe will make Dwight cry, Dwight has shown himself to be pretty thin skinned in the last 18 months or so. He won't be coddled in LA and Kobe is all about winning.

I'm ready for NBA basketball.

What did you think about his KG sort of "dissing" him last night.  A little childish to me.  But I don't know all the inside story of course.

I think KG is just an intense guy and once he gets into game mode, he's in game mode. I do not know of any ill will there between them and I wasn't surprised.

BOOM !!!!    what happened with the Lakers last night... Of course being a Mav's fan, I'm biased, and have low expectiations for them {Mav's} this year.   But for one game last night I have hope

People still watch PRO basketball????  If it was played like other levels of BB and had referees that would call the real things I might watch it again.

Yeah, no kidding.   WTF was THAT???   Never thought I'd say this:  Bring back Bynum!!  OK, just kidding.  A little.  But we have a tendency to panic here in La La Land and last night was supposed to be a gimme without Dirk in the lineup.

Like the three step non travelling calls, the illegal screens, the holds, the 10 seconds in the lane, etc....  Make them play the sport, and not let them get by with flops, travelling, holding, etc....

The pro game to me is not even exciting anymore.  Very talented men that kids are looking up to and seeing them throw elbows, have no respect for anyone, and then when the same kids do something similar, they have no idea it is a bad thing.

But, BB is not any worse than baseball and how long that game takes to play anymore.  It takes longer for batter to get set, then the pitcher has to do his thing, then the batter steps out and it starts again.

Some predicted they are going to win 65-70.  That's already tough now they lost one of the 12/17!

They will be ok.  Need to develop a bit more chemistry.  I'm excited to watch this season.

The Fakers Lakers need to learn how to utilize Steve Nash in a game, they did not use him well last night.

last night, the announcers were making a point about how their were not many true big men in the game anymore and they even change the all star voting to read 3 front court players, instead of 2 forwards and a center.

My Grizzlies are one of the few teams that have true big men down low, maybe Indiana???
