No Mike Meyers references here.

It's been a couple weeks since we've done this, so go ahead and include some old news.

What's good in your life this week, on this lucky of days?

* We put on our first bike race on 7/4, and with 175 pre-registered riders we thought we might get another 25 or so day of... Well, we pretty much DOUBLED our numbers with day-of registration! Our de-briefing (and I can't say that without thinking of having my undies stolen) went well -- the official said it was the best edition of that race he's ever done (and this was the 37th annual!).

* Bike training is going well, with RAMROD now less than 2 weeks away. I know I'm going to make it.

* Weather has been fantastic! Summer is finally here in the Pacific NW.

* Though I haven't touched my motorcycle in at least 2 weeks, I've been bike commuting the whole time.

4th was a great camping trip to the Washington coast - best weather we have ever had there.

My new job (promotion) is still going well. Lots of new things going on with the job and every day is different and new.

Our dog who broke her leg is doing much better, gets her final surgery to take the pins out on Monday and then she is almost all the way healed. Can't wait for the inscisions to heal after that so she can start swimming again.

I just want to say that i have been having GREAT workouts.  I had another good OWS this morning, and swam with a 15-20 pound carp for a while....

My dog LOVES swimming - so I can only imagine how hard it is - especially with the weather being beautiful. Thinking healing thoughts.

Good things: As of 4pm this afternoon, I am starting a weeklong vacation. The family is going to Acadia (I've lived in Maine for 10 years and have never been) to stay in a lakeside cabin, hike, bike and swim all week long.

Number one daughter is coming home today from sleep-away camp. She wrote us letters (!) and told us how much fun she was having. I miss her.

Number two daughter LOVED being the only child for a week. She was a delight all week long.

Work is going well and will be fine while I'm on vacation. I will not have to take my laptop with me. This is a first in a while.

I was gonna say... I've swum with Carp before, but I wouldn't call that good stuff!

I had a good ride/OWS/ride this morning.  One where you're 1/2 way through the swim and realize "Oh, this is a workout, not a sightseeing tour." Saw a Manatee, 4 Stingrays, 3 Parrotfish.

Sad because my wife and kids are going to Missou for a week to visit my in-laws.  I have to go on my business trip.  Happy because at the end of the business trip, my pops and I are going trout fishing in the Grand Canyon!!!

Happy Weekend everyone! Be safe please!!!

I'm taking proactive steps to address an issue that I've been dealing with for a while, and that feels good.

My dog continues to be adorable and well behaved.

I tackled my taxes this week, with only a few breakdowns and crying fits. Lesson: you can ignore about 70% of the miscellaneous stuff they put into the instructions. Flashbacks to the SATs...uuugghhh.

Hubs and I are taking a (much, much needed) vacation/conference trip to Boston next week.

My nephew continues to be small and adorable and is growing like a weed, even if he does have Terry Bradshaw hair, and his father and grandfather's hairline!

I got new glasses (that were really really needed!)

I've gotten some small indications that a paper I submitted for a big conference may be accepted--well chuffed.

So happy this Edition is up ...

- For a long time I couldn't post to these because I was really down and felt like posting Good Stuff like, I'm breathing, I have money, etc. was kind of stupid. But those are the fundamental Good Things ... but anyway, Good Stuff is that I'm feeling good, I'm DOING good, and I can post here again.

- I had a wonderful 5K swim race last Sunday and got to see many old friends and make new ones.

- Happy to be cycling to Tour de France on my brand-new TV every day!

- My folks are stable.

- Best of all, I am rich rich rich when it comes to loving and being loved. Spent time with many loved ones this week.

The Geezerettes and all of JWKMH's family are all converging on Daytona as we speak.  I shall fly down after work for the weekend.  G2 passed her qualifying exams for her PhD this week.  Big hurray for her and I get to buy her a bottle of champagne and toast her in person.  Grand Geezerette is like the energizer bunny.  She keeps getting cuter and cuter... and cuter and cuter.  Life is pretty darn good.

Welcome Summer!

- I'm into week 2 of 7 week training for my first OLY. So far have kept up with it!! (A day at a time!) Snapped the above picture on my long "run" yesterday...

- As my wonderful, handsome husband said...we had a GREAT turnout at our event. It was SHOCKING! We were a little unprepared due to this, but everyone raced and it was the first gorgeous day of many to come :-)

- I went to "Employee Engagement Training" last night and go to Orientation today - for an internship at the YMCA! :-)  I may not be a student...but that doesn't mean I can't be an intern! Not only does it mean experience in a field outside of my previous experience but it also means I get access to a fantastic facility (and pool!) that is REALLY close to home!

A PEBY STEPHIE MINI-ME!!!!

Wow. She is making me cry, she is so incredible and perfect. Just like her progenitor and hers before.

She is already a very wise little soul who will always be considering and analyzing everything.

Peby, she is just perfect!  Congrats to you and your family, what a beauty!

Well, my life is going the same, but consistency is good sometimes!

I have a trail race next weekend I am looking forward too (toe/boot willing

We have had a lot of really nice rain here in TX, so it has helped with the drought.  The kids and I went out and danced in the rain, it was a beautiful time.

I have found time to get my meditation into my daily routine, and it is amazing how it has helped my state of mind get back to a quiet and peaceful place in dealing with what life throws at me.

My daughter is interested in doing her first tri this fall, and I am super proud!

1 - Just finished having a 6th Birthday Breakfast with my son. I may have to work late, so I wanted to get some birthday time in.

2 - I have a job to work late to!

I tried not to vent too much publicly, but I was getting laid off from previous employer on 6/30 (blessing in disguise, I was not happy there).

They wanted to give me time to look for jobs, so they told me one week before Christmas.

I am pretty excited because this job appears to have a lot of opportunities and positive challenges.

3 - I got in quality workouts 13 of the last 14 days. Lost about 8 lbs.

Just returned from my 9 year old son's Junior Lifeguard graduation.  He had a blast and the Group Leaders/Interns were very inspirational to the kids.

Finally getting back in the exercise mode and enjoying it!!  Health issues are getting resolved and life is good.

Finished the first round of 2013 planning for my company with only three weeks of 15 hour days.  Now for the tweaks over the next few months.
