Champion  8766       Evergreen, Colorado |  Subject: 4-6 inchesColorado would laugh...Texas has to shut down highways. Here in Abilene we got less than an inch...but temps were hovering just over freezing so I drove a little slower to work in case some overpasses or whatnot had frozen... My mom and sis are driving in from Texarkana today and I tried to impress upon them the havoc that even an inch of snow can create in TX. Sis lives in Colorado so I could totally see her thinking "no big deal"...not realizing that Texas isn't equipped to deal with this so even an inch can be very very dangerous! |

You'd think they would be better at snow removal, but no. Ha! I spent some time in South Dakota. I swear they didn't plow. BUT...that being said...nothing ever closed due to snow either! Around here if there is a prediction of a flake pools and gyms and such tend to close. In South Dakota the roads would get so bad that I couldn't GET to the pool...but they were open! I would call and check sometimes in case the roads improved and I could get out there. *sigh* I miss snow days. We usually got 3-4 a year in South Dakota... |
