You can read my report from last year to get ideas about what not to do.

Anyone who did this race last year know if there is a facility availble to grab a shower after the race???? I assume we will have had to check out of our hotel prior to the race and well, I like to be clean.

I'm going up just to cheer and support anyone who needs it.  Oh and to drink some beer.

Yes, there are camp showers across the park that you can avail yourself to (I did the year before last).

I hear ya but, absent a shower, it sure beats driving home funky.

Last year they had a shower tent to cool off after the race...also they had massage therapists(students) giving free massages

Mmm hmmm... now you see why I like them, and as the swimmer you'll get to maximize your beer drinking cowbell ringing time!  Hope everyone has a great race... or portion thereof .

Or you could ask your hotel for a late checkout. We did that last year and it made a huge difference 1) you don't have to pack the car at the butt hole crack of dawn before the race, and 2) you can go back and get a hot shower and change clothes before the ride home. I think it cost us and extra $25 and was worth every penny.

I'll be there too.  I'm staying at the campground.  Hope it's not crazy hot, or we'll have to escape to somewhere cooler in town!  The week before, I'll post my campsite number so y'all can stop by the evening before!

Steph, Natalie, and I will be driving up together and could probably meet up for some grub.  We are clueless about where to eat in Greenwood.  I vote for all you can eat BBQ.

For those who have done this race before, how many swim waves do they have?  I am not a fan of swimming  into people and  am hoping that the swim is not too packed.  Of course my plan is to move off to the side and towards the back of my wave.

Doug. I hope you are kidding about BBQ. I like BBQ but not the night before a race. Maybe there is a Golden Corral . . .

Totally kidding but surely there is an Outback or some place with pasta. Off to google restrurants.

My sister in law lives in Greenwood and we usually eat at an Italian place called Miggs that is good and relatively inexpensive.  Not a high end place but just good food.

I just made a reservation for North Atlanta Multisport people at the restaurant RIGHT next to the Hampton Inn...it's called Capri's.  It's inexpensive and it's pasta...that's about the best I can offer!  I don't think there are tons of options there, I don't remember 100% but I don't remember anything as 'fancy' as an Outback!

If anyone is interested doing the same:
