For a short race, it can be decptively difficult. The last few years the bike has changed around..longer to shorter, forward and reverse. Riding the course "reverse" of the normal way was far tougher, at least in my opinion.
The run has a decent hill out of transition and past the cemetary, then again through town. Bike is rolling, with a few nice sized Woop-de-woops.
(depending on which version of the course they go with...haven't checked
) If they've finally finsihed all the resurfacing, and gone back to the original tough, it hsould be nice.
I missed last year, as I broke my foot a week or so before, but every other year I've done it, the swim is notoriously choppy. One of the choppiest, IMO, out of all the MMS series races. Why, I will never know.
ETA: The bike has been anywhere from 14 or so miles up to 21 or so. I see this year, they're staying around 20.
(I prefered it much better at 17. That was a good distance, IMO, for the rest of the race
) I may drop dead as I have yet to be on my bike for more thean 20 miles this season
(let alone on my TT bike at a race effort
), and am doing Grandma's Half marathon the weekend before.
