I'm hosting a Super Bowl party and I'm thinking that maybe we won't even turn the TV on. This year's game won't be much of a game; more like the Patriots eating bar-b-que Eagles for dinner. Why watch something when you already know the outcome?

Although, we may turn it on at halftime to see if there are any "malfunctions" that occur this year.

Donovan McNabb is coming of age. I believe that yesterday's performance by McNabb disproved Rush Limbaugh's fateful comment regarding his real talent and status with the media.

And, I am not at all impressed with Tom Brady...mostly because he played for the University of Michigan, which is a team that I personally loathe. So really, for no other reason than the fact that Brady was a Wusserine, I'm rooting for the Eagles.

No logic here, just blind hatred.

Hmmm, Bethany.  I detect a bit of bitterness on your part after we dined on roasted Falcons this past weekend.

GO EAGLES!!!!

Now that is funny (especially as another Big 10 grad - Penn State though - and if you have any comments about that, keep them to yourself)

Go Eagles!

Comments about PSU? All one has to do is look at their record this last year...that'll make anyone laugh, or possibly cry. ;-)

Although, I will say this: Penn State has THE BEST uniform in college football, hands down. Plain, simple, blue-collar (literally) and most important: NO NAMES ON THE JERSEYS. Communicates a sense of teamwork and unity. Makes it hard to identify players, but great for team concept.

And, I won't take anything away from JoePa either. He's great.

BBQ Eagles, love it!  Cathy, you can come to Hyannis any time you'd like, but you won't be collecting any winnings this year

I was thinking that perhaps the loser of this bet (Cathy) could push the winner of this bet (Ellen) around the Hyannis race course in a racing wheelchair...would give you a break (pun intended) from the crutches!

Prediction:  Brady finally chokes in the post season - like he did in Miami.  Owens is back - scores 1, but keeps the defense focused on him allowing others to generate some scores.  Vinateri (sp?) - IMHO the best kicker the game has ever seen - scores more points than the offense, but its not enough to thwart the mighty Eagles.

Final score:   Eagles 24  Pats 19 (4 fg's, 1 TD)

Vinatieri is an great field goal kicker, no doubt.  But David Akers is no sloutch.  He's 6th in the NFL overall this season. He's tied with Vinatieri in the post season.  Plus he beats Vinatieri in the over 50 yard category.

Here's one possibility: neither misses a field goal or an extra point.  Makes for an interesting game in overtime.

An omen sighting:

Miami's quarterback, A.J. Feeley, was the Eagles third string quarterback up till this season.

Max, you want me to push the gimpy girl in a wheelchair for 13 miles? Well how's THAT gonna happen since the EAGLES are going to WIN? When the Eagles win Max, you should push Ellen around Hyannis TWICE on the course. sorry Ellen, I wish you were running Hyannis.....Wow, these are some specific predictions! And I like them!

Hmm... Lets see...

Colts have best offense in league. They score 3 points against the Pats

Steelers have the best defense in the league. Pats score 41. And Brady had a 103 degree fever.

Eagles defense isn't as good as the Steelers and their offense isn't as good as the Colts. Although they might have a better mix, it won't be close. Winning the JV conference, er NFC, don't mean squat.

I would like to see TO come back. Just so Rodney Harrison can knock the crap out of him

Having said all that, as a NE sports fan I really can't complain (2 SB and 1 WS). Plus being a Red Sox fan I sympathize with Philly sports fans. Plus I rode McNabb to my FFL championship. So I won't be rooting against the Eagles, just for the Pats.
