Subject: RE: Cranberry Trifest : Official ThreadDanny and New England Yes at this point, signs are pointing to Danny making an impact on New England (especially southern New England ) on Saturday afternoon and evening. We truly don't know what intensity level Danny will be at by the time Saturday rolls around. It's very difficult to get a handle on how Danny will evolve during the next 48 to 60 hours. If I lived in eastern Long Island, Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts, I'd prepare for a storm capable of unleashing flooding rains and gusty winds - some of which will be strong enough to create power outages. Prepare for tropical storm watches then warnings to be posted along the coast and for inland areas. Danny will be quick-mover by the time Saturday rolls around so this actually won't be a complete washout of a weekend. A much quieter and pleasant day awaits on Sunday when Danny is history. Here's a look at three models forecasts for Saturday and the position of Danny. that is from weather.com I think they will be able to clean up the bike course but will flooding be an issue? One scenario is that the race gets started later.....especially since regardless it looks like sunday will be ok |
