Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: RE: Team Amazing Atoms Hi team!! I'm Jen, a graduate student in Molecular Biology. This month I have two races for sure - a 10k on 4/6 and a duathlon on 4/12. I might do another duathlon at the end of the month, but I wanted to try out my first to see how it goes. I will put together an HTML table for the team tomorrow, too. |

Extreme Veteran 466 | Subject: RE: Team Amazing Atoms Hello fellow Amazing Atoms! My name is Lynne and I'm a 4th year medical student. I have 1 week left of pediatric pulmonology and then I'm off to graduation with time for lots of training and getting stuff ready to move to Hawai'i where I start my pediatrics residency this summer. Doing the Martian Half Marathon in Dearborn with my little sister(stichloversith) Apr 6th and racing St Anthony's Triathlon Apr 27th in St Petersburg. goals bike 600 mi run 100 mi swim 40,000 yds strength 12 sessions The bike is going to be the challenge since I'm still very much re-building after burning out last year. I did do close to 700 last Mar after a trainer winter so it should be doable. The secret is going to be being serious about recovery between sessions. Picked up my new bike today for a little extra motivation though Go Atoms! |

Extreme Veteran 1074 | Subject: RE: Team Amazing Atoms Hi everyone. I am from Chicago, male, 42 and trying to get/stay in shape. I have no races for April, just lots of monotony....My goals are Swim 15,000 yds, Bike 225 miles, Run 20 miles and Strengtht 4 hrs. The bike may be hard, since my trainer just died and weather's still iffy up here. Well, I guess it all starts in earnest tomorrow, so I may just make today a rest day. Nice to meet you all and looking forward to this challenge. |

Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: Team Amazing Atoms Morning, Team! My goals are: * 80 miles run * 160 miles bike * 8000 meters swim I also have a 10K on 4/5 and a duathlon on 4/12...(you may be wondering right now if Jen and I are the same person...the answer is no, I think? ) I'm a college prof, and April stinks...lots of wrapping up the semester, pre-graduation events, make-up classes, etc. ... That being said, if I make it to April 25, I'm pretty much on my own time frame until August (except for those nagging tenure requirements, but atleast I can do those on rainy days when I don't feel like training). |

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: Team Amazing Atoms Hey Team... I'm 46 year old Mom to 5 training for my first IM in July. My life is hectic right now with my husband traveling most weeks and my 3 kids with travel outdoor and finishing indoor soccer. I call it soccer hell month with 4 practices and up to 6 games a week. I really can't be in 3 places at the same time. April I have a 1/2 Mary on the 6th with no taper and it is a train through race on a hilly touch course. I'll be riding 7-8 hours the two days before the race and have a 4 hour training day Friday and Saturday before the race...PB maybe but all about building fitness for IM. April 27th I'm doing my first tri of the year in NJ hopefully water will be out of the 50's...it is .5/29.5/4.2 mile tri..strange distance. I'm best on the bike so a race with extra miles I like. I may do a duathlon the weekend before as it is 8 minutes from my house. My goal numbers for April: Bike: 450 miles Strength or yoga- 10 sessions I may need to change them on the 4th when I get my plan from my coach. My shoulder is not great and my swims depend if I have pain or not so that is a big unknown. I was in a bike race crash last June and have a AC separation in my left shoulder. Sometimes it is fine other times not so good. |

Master 1289 Franklin, TN | Subject: RE: Team Amazing Atoms Hey Atoms! I'm Terry from just south of Nashville, TN. I'm a mid-40s, burned out IT professional and have been racing mountain bikes for 3 years. I played 7 years of recreational tennis before the bikes got my undivided attention. I did my first tri last summer, an Xterra, where I freaked out on the open water swim and locked up with leg cramps 100 yards into the run. A month later, I swore I'd come back and kick its royal... you get the picture. Late last fall I really got hooked on triathlon. I'm following the Olympic 2x plan and my numbers for this challenge are: Schwimmy - 421 minutes Bike - 706 minutes Run - 344 minutes I added abs/core/strength - 220 minutes. I had my first mtn bike race of the season yesterday and had a nasty crash just one mile into the race. Chickasaw Trace Classic It made for a long day. I may not train for another day or two while I recover, but I don't forsee any problems. I have 9 more competitions this year, but nothing scheduled in April unless I find a sprint tri. My first tri this year isn't until July and it is an Xterra. I have an Oly in August and another Oly in Sept. Next year I'd like to focus on a couple of HIMs, one being the Atomic Man. Skarl and Artemis, glad to be back with ya'll! Edited by orange223 2008-03-31 7:21 PM |

Elite 3002 HURRICANE, Utah | Subject: RE: Team Amazing Atoms Hi team.....My name is Jennifer from Southern Ohio. I am training for the Desota Triple T at the end of May and need to get on my bike! I hope this weather breaks soon because I cant handle the bike drainer. My goals for the month are Bike 23 hours Run 15 hours Swim 10 hours I have been slacking at my swim and bike lately due to my mind not being able to keep my butt inside on my drainer and our pool has just been totally screwed up with there chemicals and makes my tongue go numb after about 10 min and then I get sick feeling. I am looking into starting to go back and swim at our college pool which is A+ for a pool but not as convient when you have to get yourself ready in a hurry to go to work. Good luck team and lets have some fun!

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: Team Amazing Atoms It's April 1st...can't believe it. I ran in capris and long sleeve shirt today and was hot...wish I had black sports bra on so I could have taken off my shirt. I know 57 isn't hot but it is when I'm used to running when its 30. I did a 6 mile loop today and was 6 minutes faster than back in January...thrilled for that. I'm swimming in about an hour and hope to do strength while my youngest has soccer practice at the Y tonight.. Happy Training Atoms...
