Subject: RE: Hit by a truck 1 year ago... IM in 1 week Originally posted by Baowolf Hey guys, be careful out there on the bike. I was on my last long ride training for an Ironman 1 year ago, broke a few ribs separated shoulder, hip, etc. But a little PT and I am back at it with Des Moines IM in 1 week. Here is to hoping when I put all the miles together back to back the hip and shoulder hold up. Stay strong out there and don't let things get you down. FDL>DNF>DNS. Could use a few cheerleaders in the back of my mind when I get off the bike if the hip is wonky. Here is to getting er done! A truck hit 4-5 people on a group ride where I live last September. I had been a ride with one of them the month before the accident. I talked to him at our Tri Club IM-Texas Send-Off party. He was pretty frustrated because he was in better shape the morning of the bike accident than he was 8 months later as he prepared to go into IM Texas. He didn't have a time goal. He was just wanting to finish. I saw his race times and it looked like he did great. Coming back from an accident like that is not easy and so you should be proud that you will be toeing the starting line in one week. I will have you on the IM tracker and look forward to hearing your report after the race. Edited by BlueBoy26 2022-06-06 9:18 AM
