OK, I have a short list of things I want to do before I die.

  1. Finish an Ironman
  2. Visit Spain (I don't know why)
  3. Alaskan cruise
  4. Drive a Zamboni

During my Ironman trainng I was worried about spending too much time away from the rest of the cow family. Happycow told me "Don't worry about it, I think it's cool that you get to cross something off your list" (how cool is that?)

I'm not sure why I want to visit Spain, but I do.

I want to spend time with my camera and family just soaking in the whole Alaskan countryside.

I am finding that driving the Zamboni is working out to be the hardest thing on my list. I think you need some sort of blessing from the Pope to drive one. I have tried everything. Befriending the rink workers and bribery (Beer and money). I was even thinking about working there until the driver told me that he waited years before he was allowed to drive the thing. I have to keep working o this one, maybe after I retire.

This is my list, what's yours?

for some unknown reason, I have always wanted to visit Seattle.  I have no idea why!  Never been out of the mainland, out of the US, farther north than Chattanooga; and went to San Diego once at age six.

My husband, otoh, has been everywhere courtesy of the US Navy.

I guess I should count myself lucky that these are all things I CAN do, and that I'm not at the mercy of the Zamboni gods!

I can cross off doing a sprint tri! I'm doing #3 tomorrow!

Write that one, short, amazing book that isn't insanely famous until I am dead.
See a moose (don't ask me why).
Catch a fish....I've tried, never caught one. Maybe I'm too hyper.

Great lists so far. I particularly like item #4 on madcow's list.

Here's my partial list:
1. Speak at least six languages (right now I speak four)
2. Travel the world. Egypt and Jordan this November, Tanzania and Kenya in March.
3. Cook an elaborate French feast for my friends.
4. Finally get my pilot's license. I have a few hours under my belt now.
5. Buy a place off the Amalfi Coast.

At least one Masters Degree

Be the first person in the U.S. on a given day to see the sun rise from Mt. Washington

Run the Snake Path up Masada

Skydive

See the Pyramids

I'm sure I'll continue to add to it...

I went up north for a vacation, to northern ontario. There should have been moose everywhere! (especially in front of your car). I didn't see one in 6 days. I also went fishing and caught a nice 20 incher first cast.

4. Drive a Zamboni

Well I went down to the local arena
Asked to see the manager man
He came from his office, said, "Son can I help you?"
I looked at him and said, "Yes you can..."

I want to Drive the Zamboni...hey
I want to Drive the Zamboni...Yes I do!

Now ever since I was young it's been my dream
That I might drive a Zamboni machine
I'd get the ice just as slick as could be
And all the kids would look up to me

I want to drive the Zamboni...hey
I want to drive the Zamboni...Yes I do!

Now the manager said, "Son, I know it looks keen
But that right there is one expensive machine
And I've got Smokey who's been driving for years."
About that time I broke down in tears.

Cause I want to drive the Zamboni...hey
I want to drive the Zamboni...Yes I do!

cook a full Indonesian rijstaffel for at least ten people--this winter?
raise my son to be a good and happy man--in progress, I hope
compete in a triathlon
run a marathon (preferably LA, since that's where I first watched one, while in college)
write a good book
become financially comfortable
learn to surf
visit Cuba
