Subject: RE: Batman!tuwood - 2012-07-17 10:07 PM I really liked the first two but for some reason from that point on I have lost total interest in the batman movies. If I were to guess its probably related to them switching out Michael Keaton for whatever random celebrity they can find to play Batman. That series was doomed once there were nipples on the bat-armor. Well, way before that actually. This Chris Nolan series is a complete reboot. It's based on the Frank Miller "Batman: Year One" and "Dark Knight" versions of batman. No camp, all angst. There is continuity in the character through these three. I think Dark Knight is my vote for best superhero movie, since the whole essence of Joker goes deeper than just bad guy fights hero. It's about someone who presses on society to use our fear to turn us into monsters too. True terrorism. He has mixed success. I have no plans to let my kids see any of these Batman films until they are much older. OTOH, I may take my 8 year old to the new Spiderman. Far less darkness, more fun. |
