Subject: Batman!

Anyone else looking forward to the new one? I have been catching up with the last couple of movies from Netflix, so I am all set. I am almost disappointed I am going to be on vacation when it opens, so I won't be able to catch one of the all night movie marathons showing the last couple leading up to a midnight showing of the new one.

But here are some entertaining clips to keep me going:

I'm Batman

The Dark Knight and 1960's Robin

I've been driving Mrs. gearboy nuts lately by walking around the house muttering "I'm Batman!". I think she will be very glad when the next big movie comes out...

I really liked the first two but for some reason from that point on I have lost total interest in the batman movies.  If I were to guess its probably related to them switching out Michael Keaton for whatever random celebrity they can find to play Batman.

My wife says Christian Bale is a good Batman..........how the hell would I know?

For that matter.....my wife would prolly think Christian Bale is a good "anyman".  She's hopeless.  Laughing

That series was doomed once there were nipples on the bat-armor. Well, way before that actually.

This Chris Nolan series is a complete reboot. It's based on the Frank Miller "Batman: Year One" and "Dark Knight" versions of batman. No camp, all angst. There is continuity in the character through these three. I think Dark Knight is my vote for best superhero movie, since the whole essence of Joker goes deeper than just bad guy fights hero. It's about someone who presses on society to use our fear to turn us into monsters too. True terrorism. He has mixed success.

I have no plans to let my kids see any of these Batman films until they are much older. OTOH, I may take my 8 year old to the new Spiderman. Far less darkness, more fun.

Very much enjoyed Chris Nolan's Batman movies, I hope this one does the series justice!

Just rewatched the first 2 this week.  I forgot how incredible Heath Ledger was in that role.  Amazing acting.

It took me a couple days to think about it, but I liked it more and more after reflection.

I have to admit, I went and I wasn't even in the mood for a movie and I was tired, so the 3 hrs sort of drug by (including previews)...  So it did seem to drag on a bit based on my mood.

But the story was good, and the action was fantastic.  Two thumbs up (just don't go when you want a nap).

Did anyone else have trouble hearing the diaglog? Maybe it was just my theater and/or me getting old, but I couldn't make out much of what either Batman or Bane were saying. If there was any action going on, it was totally a lost cause.
