and no, not nude modelling this time (still haven't gotten a call for that).

interview at the bike shop today @ 2:30 cst. not sure if the hours will work out for me, but regardless...it would be a great way to get my foot in the door.

Good Luck with the interview and definitely hope you get the job.

Sure sounds like a job that is at least a bit compatible with the SBR lifestyle. (Do they have group rides on the weekend???)

Cheers

I can see it now.

Interviewer: So, do you have any questions for me?
Autumn: What's my employee discount?

Way late to the party here, but hope it went well!!!

And to carry on Lisa's post, the next question is how much stuff can you buy with that discount (cause we'll all become virtual Autumns through BT)

yM was awesome. granted, the yW is a much prettier, nicer, newer facility. yM is pretty old and you can tell. BUT, it has a better vibe, the kids area staff actually do activities w/ the kids, etc. i think it will be the yM.

GOT IT!!!!

it was an awesome 'interview' although we basically just sat around and gabbed for an hour. i know the shop owner. when he asked the general manager if he wanted to be there for my interview he said 'why? we know autumn. you know what she's about. do you even NEED to interview her?' hee hee. ego has been sufficiently stroked.

i'm very excited. this is going to as close to ideal as i could have imagined. it will be seasonal, which will be perfect for both commuting and parenting. cold, darker, snowy months i won't be working at all, so no biking home in a blizzard at 8pm...and its also the time of year when we nest more as a family. in the summer, my hours will increase, but so will the daytime hours i have with my kids (ella will be off from school), so family needs should stay in balance as my hours increase. will also be doing some work on the shop website. looking at 1 night a week, and a couple weekend days a month, starting in march...increasing to 2 nights a week, and a couple weekend days, starting in may. ron knows i race, so that's not at all an issue. he also left it up to me as to what nights i work. nice, eh? he asked how much i wanted to be paid, and i didn't have an answer. hadn't even thought about that part of it! hee hee. anyway, one night of work will pay for my member dues at the yMca for a month. the rest will go into savings haaa haaaaa haaa haaaaa. i crack myself up.

anyway, i'm really excited. first job interview in 7+ years...and i got the job on the spot. first job since ella was born (stopped working when she was a couple months old). we're getting vietnamese take out to celebrate.

can you believe i didn't even ask? having worked at both a bike shop and an outdoor gear shop before, and knowing the discount i get already being on the tri team, i already know the answer.
