I'm from Minnesota and live in North Carolina--love aspects of both, hate aspects of both. Capable of being funny about either.

Psychologically torn, head imploding, mess on the computer screen. Thanks, Tricomet

I make naan from scratch.

Florida, neither Southern nor Northern, a melting pot of mid-westerners, yanks, rednecks, banana republicans, asians, where there's no such thing as being land-locked, the sand always feels great between your toes, and a cold day is when you have to throw on a lightweight fleece over your running t-shirt.

Frankly, I don't see anything on either of those lists worth pining over, much less freezing your a$$ off for six months and losing all that training and racing time.

My North:

I have all my teeth
Not married to my cousin/sister/mom
can walk across my lawn without tripping over 50 dogs, discarded tires and cars on blocks
Indoor plumbing

HA!  Just kidding.  I was born and spent the first few years of my life in West Virginia before my family packed up for New York and then Chicago and now they're in Florida.  I like what both the North and the South have to offer.

Hmmm ... been to rural Vermont or Pennsylvania?

Pretty comparable - except y'all do not have the benefit of the Waffle House + feel compelled to eat 'scrapple'.

You can have the North I spent a year there and vowed never to be there longer than a weekend again. And most of your reasons are pretty bad. Change of seasons, all that means is that the weather is going from nice to horrible. Thats really something to look forward to. And I prefer Florida lobsters to Maine anyway, the meat is much sweeter and I can dive and get them myself.

Whatever.  DIfferent people like the different aspects.

I don't like the bitter cold, but I do look forward to the snow so that I can SKI.  Guess it comes as a package - a place that snows would get bitter cold at some point.  G0od or bad, I enjoy the variety.
