Favorite Childhood Toys...

My favorite toys that I would love to have for my kids: a set of a grandparents like mine were.  (Nana's still around and loves her great grandkids who live close by her).  With the accessories:  fishing pole, cast net, farm, chickens, picking produce, cooking lessons, life lessons, kisses, laps, big back yards, smells.

 My inlaws are so disappointing, spend very little time with their grandkids.  Always have. 

My parents live too far away but they do come down a couple times a year for weekend visits and once a year for a week.

Mr. Machine, Super Nintendo (Super Mario, Mike Tyson Boxing, etc.), all my Star Wars stuff, Cabbage Patch Dolls (had 2 boys and a girl), Monchichi, Legos.   The best "non toy" was going out by the silo (lived on a farm) and digging for fossils.  We'd easily fill up a big empty bucket with all kinds of fossils from when the Finger Lakes area was all under water.

I still think cardboard boxes were the best toy you could get esp big Fridge boxes or stuff like that.  we had hours of fun with them.  And even when they were all ripped you could use bits of it to sit on and slide down big sand hills or grass hills.

Legos.  My brohter and I built a lego city, with city planning so the the king still live in his castle, and roads, fire and police station etc, and the space craft stuffs.

Tonka Toys (the steel ones!) we used to ride the dump truck down the hill, baseball cards before they became a mini stock market, Star Wars (had them all at one point), the big vibrating football fields with the plastic men and foam ball.

Lincoln logs, Big Jim and my Big Wheel.

Someone should make an adult-sized Big Wheel. Those things rock...

Try a Green Machine.  I ride my kids' around the driveway and can spin out and do 360's with it like a big wheel. 

Lincoln logs- yes! I remember those!! Does anyone remember Poppels? They were these stuffed animals that you could transform into a ball I think. That was a looong time ago. Yes, My Little Pony was up there too...and Courtney mentioned the Sweet Valley High/Babysitter's Club books- I had so many of those my dad took them all away and said I needed to start reading something educational, LOL. How about RL Stine books? Remember those?

My Daisy 760 powerline and a brick of BB's. That was pretty much all it took for a good Summer from age 8-12
