Subject: RE: Where would you livePeople always say San Diego is the greatest. I lived there 3 years and loved every minute of it, but now that i am away from there, I can see the negatives and dont think i could move back. It is way, way too overcrowded. Since i can't stand traffic and long lines, I had to plan everything around that- don't try to drive between 8-7, for example. Buying a house is impossible unless you want to live 1 hour from the ocean, or are a millionaire, or want to pay 400k for a 2 bedroom, 900 square foot condo. Yard and trees? Forget about it. $20 for parking wherever you go, with hardly any public transportation options. Wanna ride your bike all year? Cool, but you have to stop for lights/stop signs every tenth a mile, unless you drive 45min outside the city. There are only 2, maybe 3 routes that are accessible without a car that doesn't have you stopping constantly, but there are just soooo many stupid people there, that I almost always had a near death experience every time i rode. I ride on my trainer here in michigan as much as I did there.
The weather is amazing, but on the other hand, it does get 'gloomy' a lot- Denver area has a lot more sunny days. It also never gets really warm, which for most people is a plus, but I am constantly freezing, so 70 was still kinda cold ![](https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/smile.gif) However, it almost never rains! It really is an awesome place to live for a bit, but you have to know what you want, especially for space/crowding, if it's going to be a long term move.
