Subject: BT and technical questions

Hello!I posted this in the Site Support area, too, but I though COJ might respond quicker. Confession: I am a total dolt when it comes to anything technical. I recently got an iPhone and was excited to upload the BT app. But I can't get it to do much at all! Is it normal that I can only log run, bike and swim on my iPhone's BT app? Why can't I log strength, sports or write notes or any of the other stuff I can do on regular BT? Why does my "progress" only show s/b/r? Why can't I browse my friends' logs or see the forums? Am I doing something wrong or is the app just that basic at this point? I see other people logging from their phones.

And I am embarrassed to admit this since I've been using BT since 2005, but I have no idea how to upload photos to my blog. And everyone else has fancy colors and animated stuff on their logs ... is there a manual for this somewhere?! I wanna play, too!

Thanks!

^^^ this is my experience too.  I've used it on my Android phone but it was pretty much just log/see my workouts.

If you go to the site on your iPhone it will automatically bring up the 'mobile' site (at least it does on mine) - you'll see the options as big bars/buttons:

Articles
Logging
Forums
View Full Site
Logoff

The mobile site is much easier to navigate than the "full site" for me. And with the "Logging" feature, I'm not sure what the point of the app is anymore.

I wish the mobile site had Messages as an option. Still have to go to full site to read and send messages.

We're in the process of replacing the current iOS app with a version based on the mobile version of the site.

The current iOS app is, in a word, crap.

It was an attempt to take an existing piece of horribly substandard work and turn it into something useful. Didn't work. Good money was thrown after bad. Lesson learned.

I have my iPhone currently set to load up full versions of websites.  Some sites have nice mobile interfaces set up, most though are crap and severely limit your access and usefulness.

BT allows you to view full site, so go that route.

Flash is another story....
