Expert 957 Charlotte, NC | Subject: Team Swimming Rocks Alright...I guess I'm getting hooked on these challenges...so much so that I already went off my training plan to get an extra swim in today. My goal for the month is 20,000 yds and I put in 2600 today. How about 13% on the first day? Edited by D001 2008-02-02 3:23 PM |

Expert 1226 Chicago | Subject: RE: February Swim Challenge Hello from the windy...er...I mean snowy city of Chicago! With about 10 inches coming down I didn't make it to the pool last night, so I'm doing the workout tonight instead--1100 yards. So it'll count for the challenge. Woo! I'm signed on for 8000 yards in February, but I'll likely up the ante within a week or so. Good times! A lil' bit about me...I'm Barbara and I'm training for my first half ironman in June. The bike is what scares me most, but to be quite honest I really need to focus on getting my endurance back in the water. I spent too much time away from the pool. So February is all about getting my drill workouts done and getting reacquainted. You may have to throw me in the pool. |

Master 1284 Victoria BC | Subject: RE: February Swim Challenge This is my second challenge as I did a run one in January and must admit that I didn't think I would run as much as I did. I guess the team and motivation really helped get me out there. That is what I am hoping for this month. As swimming is definately my weakest of my 3 weak events. My highest previous month was last month at like 3900 m so I am trying to get in 6000m this month. I know it is probably the smallest amount on the team and hope to be able to raise it but that is a big goal for me. My last swim was the first time I have ever had a swim workout of 1000m so I was stoked about that. Hoping to be able to repeat that and go from there. Hoping to get a good start on it tonight if I can get to the pool. |

Veteran 182 Hillsboro, OR | Subject: RE: February Swim Challenge I did the bike challenge in January and my butt is still sore, so decided I needed shift my focus for February. I put my goal down in hours since my focus is on technique and drills for the month and I didn't want to have to worry about # of laps. I've signed up for 4 hours. I find that I can only swim for ~30 min before my technique starts to falter, so then I quit and continue on another day. About me: My name is Sandi and my goal for the year is to qualify for USAT Age Group Nationals (held in Sept). My qualifying race is June 7. Edited by swgraham 2008-02-01 4:09 PM |

Member 16 | Subject: RE: February Swim Challenge This'll be my first challenge here and I'm excited. Just wanted to let you guys know I'm going away this weekend, so I'm going to get a late start by a few days. But this will definitely help motivate me to get in the pool. I'm going for 6,000 m as well, since I haven't done much regular swimming, so ShawnC13, I'm right down with you with a low goal. Katie |

Extreme Veteran 877 Pa | Subject: RE: February Swim Challenge Hey Everyone! I'm glad to be a part of this challenge. I'm hoping to do more to keep me motivated ;-) I was in for 24k yards this month, but I realized that I had gotten 24,600 in January, so I up'd my goal to 25K. I know it isn't much of an increase, but I figure it's a short month and my swimming schedule is kind of light this month. I'll have to throw in a few extra yards per swim :-) I'm looking forward to it :-) I got my first 2k in this morning :-) |

Warning! Mila is ALSO addicted to anything PINK and SPARKLY! (Hm, so I'm thinking your team name should be pink and sparkly, too? Especially with Valentine's Day coming up....) Oh yeah - and she will NOT want to lose her current avatar - so you'd better hit your goals. Or she'll come after you with her PINK WHIP! (Yes, she really does have one.... Ask to see it if you don't believe me. LOL) Dee |

Extreme Veteran 393 Columbia, South Carolina | Subject: RE: February Swim Challenge Hi all! I've been doing challenges monthly now since...October. Yeah, I'm a bit addicted but I find you can't beat the motivation to get it done! I'm still rehabbing my way back from knee surgery on 12/14, so swimming will remain my primary objective for February. My goal is 18,000 yds for the month, but if I beat that I'd be even more excited. I'll make my first donation to the cause tomorrow morning. Happy swimming! |

Expert 784 Computerland | Subject: RE: February Swim Challenge Hi. This is my first challenge. I am on two swim teams, one for school and one for my swim club. Right now we are in our last month of swim meets before the summer season starts in June. I decided to do a swim challange to make me a stronger swimmer. My goal is 22 hours (not distance-counting laps drives me insane!), but looking at January's monthly totals, I was just 5 mins short of that so I am hoping to later increase my goal. These challanges look really fun and next month, after the main part of swim season I will probably work on my running or even (gasp!) biking. I ride my bike at about 8MPH. Joggers move faster then I do. I'll work on that later! As for now, I am really looking forward to this challange and all your goals look very inspiring. |

Master 1678 Olney, MD | Subject: RE: February Swim Challenge Hey there everyone.. I'm Traci and I'm training for my first tri in June 2008. This is my first challenge and I'm really excited about it!! I need some major motivation to get my butt in the pool. I always seem to find reasons to skip my swimming workouts which definitely isn't good because it's the sport I need the most work on. So... I'm hoping being part of a challenge team will help me stay on track because it'll be hard to skip workouts if it's letting the team down. Definitely get on me if it looks like I'm slacking off... I got in 1600 yards tonight.. 10% DONE.. yay! |
