Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: April Challenge Weekly Updates Kind of a short one this week. First of all, I want to congratulate all of the challenge participants who raced over the past week! Great job to all of you. Now for the fun part. As of Sunday, April 6th, we were 20% through the month. Here are the standings: 1) Lively Lava - 21.84% 2) Amazing Atoms - 19.22% 3) Persistent Pumpkins - 18.21% 4) Mighty Moose - 17.82% 5) Exciting Elephants - 17.54% 6) Tenacious Turtles - 16.21% 7) Plucky Pineapples - 13.92% 8) Olympic Onion Rings - 12.64% Congratulations to the Lively Lava! They prove you can talk and train at the same time! Truly talented. Remember to update the spreadsheets by the end of the day on Sunday (US Sunday for you international folks). I'll be doing these updates Monday morning and can only go by what's in the spreadsheets. Have a great week of training! -Jen Edited by D001 2008-04-14 11:12 AM |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: April Challenge Week 2 Update We've finished our second week of the challenge! As of yesterday, we are 43.3% of the way through the month. How's your progress? We had a number of challenge participants race again this weekend. Congratulations to all of you!! There are a few people who already have 100% in some of their sports! Wow! Feel free to increase your goals as many times as you want - remember that you are capped at 110% of your goal. Unfortunately, we've also lost a few people due to illness and injury. We're sorry to lose you. Hope you all continue to cheer your teams on for the rest of the month while you take the time to heal and recover. We want you healthy for the rest of the year. And now....the standings! 1. Mighty Moose - 46.13% 2. Lively Lava - 44.87% 3. Amazing Atoms - 42.48% 4. Persistent Pumpkins - 39.97% 5. Tenacious Turtles - 37.93% 6. Exciting Elephants - 36.89% 7. Olympic Onion Rings - 34.91% 8. Plucky Pineapples - 31.14% Congratulations to the Mighty Moose!! For everyone else, there is still time to get out there and change your team's standings. Hope everyone has a great week of training!! -Jen |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: April Challenge Week 3 Update We're coming in to the home stretch of the challenge!! We'll do another update next Monday based on Sunday's totals. You'll have until Thursday night (5/1) to get together all of the totals for the month and I'll announce the team winners on Friday (5/2). Remember that up to 110% of your goal for the month will count for your team. So, if you're close to your goal, keep training and get some bonus points for your team. Congratulations to everyone that raced this weekend! There were some great performances out there. Check out the race reports of those people who raced. Racers, be sure to post links in your team threads to share them with your team. And now...the standings!! This week, we have a new team in the lead! 1) Persistent Pumpkins - 76.51% 2) Mighty Moose - 69.30% 3) Amazing Atoms - 67.12% 4) Exciting Elephants - 62.16% 5) Tenacious Turtles - 60.99% 6) Lively Lava - 60.19% 7) Plucky Pineapples - 58.60% 8) Olympic Onion Rings - 55.43% Great job Pumpkins!! |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: April Challenge Penalty Hi everyone, I've been getting a lot of questions about penalties for the losers. The two teams with the lowest overall percentages for the month will have to change their avatar to something with a flower (April showers bring May flowers...). If you are on a losing team, it doesn't matter what your percentages are, just that you are on one of the teams with the lowest percentage. Let me know if you have any questions! -Jen |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: April Challenge Weekly Updates Jen, FYI: Shermbelle has been sick. According to his log, he went to the ER the other day and was diagnosed with a bronchial infection. His log has been blank for the past few days now. (I hope he's OK!) I'll keep you informed as to his status. Also, how late can we update the spreadsheet on May 1st? I generally check logs and compare them to the spreadsheet, but I'm not sure when I'll be online during that day. (It's one of my long workdays. Uh, longER workdays....) Thanks!!! |

I hope he's doing ok. That sounds bad. He can drop goals for the time he's been missing. I'm going to give everyone a few days (probably until the end of May 2nd?) to update their logs and the spreadsheet for the end. I know people can have a hard time doing it right away and I want to be sure everyone has enough time for the one that counts. I'll let you know tomorrow the exact days for having the updates done. |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: April Challenge Week 4 Update We're heading in to the home stretch now! Time to get out there and finish up the last little bit of your goals. We have one last update for the challenge after today. Since it is our final one, I will give everyone a few days to make sure that the logs and spreadsheets are updated. Team captains, you'll probably want to check the spreadsheet totals against the logs of the people on your team Final updates must be done by Friday, May 2nd, 11:59 EDT. I will be posting the results on Saturday morning. The two teams with the lowest overall percentage have to change their avatars to a flower for the month of May. Might I suggest a buttercup or a pansie? Here are this week's standings: 1. Mighty Moose - 95.52% 2. Exciting Elephants - 92.51% 3. Amazing Atoms - 91.67% 4. Persistent Pumpkins - 90.11% 5. Lively Lava - 82.94% 6. Plucky Pineapples - 81.75% 7. Tenacious Turtles - 80.23% 8. Olympic Onion Rings - 75.26% |

I'm not sure if I needed to change my avatar or not, but since I'm pretty sure our team (Turtles) was either last or next to last, I went on a changed mine to include a flower, just in case. If I don't need a flower avatar, just let me know and I'll switch it to something else. Edited by BunnyB 2008-05-03 10:45 AM |

And the Onions may right alongside the Turtles.... We were in last place last week. I've gone ahead and changed my avatar already, too. |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: April Challenge Final Results The final results are in!! Congratulations to everyone who participated in the challenge, especially those of you who met or beat your goals! We had a good month. Here are the final standings
Congratulations to Team Mighty Moose on their 1st place finish!! Great job this month! Feel free to put something in your signature like "My team WON the April Challenge!". All the members on the Tenacious Turtles and the Olympic Onion Rings need to change their avatar to something with a flower for the month of May. I had a great month of running the challenge. Hope you all continue with the challenges and training. |

I vote that have to change their avatars, too! What? I don't get a vote? Hmph. <-- And yes -- I am now a flower. Look left. Edited by D001 2008-05-03 2:23 PM |
