Pro 4228 Broomfield, Colorado | Subject: Eagles fans UNITE! OK, EAGLES fans (not you silly Pats fans - this is NOT for you). Please check my log and read the #3 inspire me on 1/26/05. This challenge has been suggested, yet there is NOTHING mentioned about what happens when the EAGLES are triumphant. Help me out and we'll come up with a plan together! GO EAGLES!!!!! |

Pro 5153 Helena, MT | Subject: RE: Eagles fans UNITE! Allright, Cathy. I guess you should know. Since the Broncos got whooped, I'm an Eagles fan for the remainder of the season. I'm sick of these damn patriots riding around on their high horse with their stupid triangular hats. Yeah, we know the redcoats are coming, already. |

Master 2447 Marietta, Ga | Subject: RE: Eagles fans UNITE! This is so sad, so very sorry. Those poor Eagles are really in for the fight of their lives. The Pats are confident and rightly so. As much as I like the City of Philadelphia and can't stand anything Bostonian, I still can't bring myself to root for these miserable birds. The Patriot franchise is a class organization, from the coach all the way down through the ranks. Too bad every franchise isn't run with the same level of expertise. As they say on the WIP, "whassup cuz?" |

Same appears to be true of bEagles fans and the team. Ok, so far they have trotted out TO's dr who says he can't play, then the trainer says he can play. He had surgery last week on a frigging ankle and thinks he'll play FOOTBALL??? Now what do you think would be the first body part that ANY opposing player would go for? Yeah.....put him out there..... Cathy, I'm not feeling a lot of support for your bEagles here..... |

Expert 1013 White House, TN | Subject: RE: Eagles fans UNITE! I'm going to throw my mild-mannered support in for the Eagles for a number of reasons: 1: I'm a Packers fan and I'm proud to admit it! (Dont' laugh at me; my ego bruises easily!) Ergo, I gotta root for the NFC team. 2: I hate dynasties (especially the Ming one, they were all dorks!). What I really hate is broadcasters on ESPN who ask every other week if this is a New England dynasty. Too be honest, if you have ask, you probably have your answer already. 3: Tom Brady. Mediocre QB for the University of Michigan Wusserines. Mediocre QB for a stellar New England team. Most undeserving, untalented, 2-time SuperBowl MVP ever. 4: R-E-S-P-E-C-T, the Eagles aren't getting any; just like the Patriots weren't in SuperBowls past. I like to cheer for the underdog; especially when I think the underdog is better. :-) Too be honest, it's my blind hatred for the University of Michigan and all that they stand for that leads me to hope that the team led by Tom Brady goes down in a flaming ball of humiliation and shame. That would be cool. |

Philadelphia, south of New York and north of DC | Subject: RE: Eagles fans UNITE! Oh good, are those stinkin' Pats' fans outta here? (is it Pats' fans or patsies?, I always forget) Open the window and let in some fresh air! Geez, the New England team is really good, they deserve some better fans. What a bunch of front running posers. How many of them were cheering for the Patriots when the team stunk? Not many. I bet there were more fans in Philly, Green Bay and Chicago following and admiring the Patriots before most of these fans even heard of the team. Look, everybody knows that Boston and the surrounding area is baseball country. Red Sox fans are among the best in baseball. They supported that team through thick and thin. There are no bandwagoners in Red Sox Nation. But the Patriots? Gimme a break. These fans use to just follow football for something to do before spring training began (I bet that secretly most of them are more excited about pitchers and catchers reporting in two weeks than they are about the Super Bowl) When the Patriots needed a new stadium, they not only moved out of Boston, they renamed the team!!! That's because the owners knew there were not enough fans to support the Boston Patriots. They had to appeal to an entire region! You don't see the Packers calling themselves the Wisconsin Packers. They're the Green Bay Packers. Why? Because Packers fans are real NFL football fans. Green Bay loves that team win or lose. Same here in Philly with the Eagles. People here bleed green. We love this team win or lose, good years and bad years. Philly fans have suffered for a long time and have stayed loyal. And now we're in the Super Bowl and these pretenders are trying to spoil the party? I don't think so. So, I hope those Pats' fans enjoy their stinkin' little parties. If you come upon one holding a ball and having a quizzical look on their face, remind them that the oblong shaped brown ball with pointy ends is not in fact a basketball that has gotton run over by a truck, but a football. You may need to spell it for them: f-o-o-t-b-a-l-l. And no, the hall of fame is not in Cooperstown, it's in Canton. Go Birds!!! Edited by dontracy 2005-01-28 1:11 PM |

Expert 798 Potomac, Maryland | Subject: RE: Eagles fans UNITE! You talk of loyalty on an "Eagles fans" thread where most of the posters are Patriots fans? That takes some nerve. And hey, I'm a transplanted Bostonian and have followed the Pats from childhood, back in the old AFL (and they stunk even in that league) when they were quarterbacked by Babe Parelli and their kicker was Gino Cappelletti. Give us a break. We've paid our dues and deserve our time in the sun! |

Jeff Thomason is replacing tight end Chad Lewis who broke his ankle during his second TD pass last week. Thomason retired from the Eagles two years ago. But does it matter? No way. Why? Because he's a triathlete and he's in amazing shape. http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/homeNewsDetail.jsp?id=22235 The Eagles have a triathlete on the team. Good Omen City Baby!!! Master 1791 Raleigh, North Carolina | Subject: RE: Eagles fans UNITE! I can't believe I missed this thread for so long. Must I tell you Pats fans this yet again....(since you can't stay out of an Eagles only thread) Brady has cracked once this year (Miami). There's a chink in his shoulder pads that hasn't entirely healed yet. The only things that the Pats have going for them is Billy, and Adam. Brady has got about 3 int's all saved up waiting for the Eagles to come down with the ball. Adam, IMO the best kicker the game has probably seen, is going to score more points than the New England offense. Master 2447 Marietta, Ga | Subject: RE: Eagles fans UNITE! I'm not a "fan" of either team, but as an objective observer, I have to say I like the Pats. Last I checked, the spread was 7 points and I'm not sure I would be quite that confident given the fact that they won their last 2 Superbowls by 3 pts or less. Oh, and regarding these Eagles fans, wasn't The Vet the only stadium in the country that had a courtroom inside the building to adjudicate all those malcontented hooligans? That just about says it all. I heard COgirl has a wrap sheet a yard long. Edited by Motivated 2005-02-03 10:05 AM |
