Subject: What width wheel have people been putting on HED H3?

This would be the HED H3 Clincher with aluminum.  I am leaning towards a 23c.  Curious to what tire type people have used.

I didn't know HED3s came in different widths, perhaps you're asking about the tire width?

In that case, 23 is standard, some will go smaller, but you're not going to see a whole lot of difference if you do.

I believe that a 19mm is recommended for maximum aerodynamic benefits (most important on the front).  However, I'm not 100% sure that is the number, you may want to search over on Slowtwitch to see if you can find some posts about Hed3 and aerodynamics if you want to learn more.

I've used tires as narrow as 19mm... Rode pretty harsh, but I only did it when I knew the road surface was smooth. I'm currently using 23mm.

indeed, I asked Tom A that question directly and that was his advice for max aerodynamics. I ended up going with 23mm for Crr benefits and comfort due to the distance I focus for racing...

I use Conti Sprinter 22s on mine, but mine are tubulars and I haven't really noticed a ride difference from my Conti GP Attack/Force clincher set (22/23) while racing besides the Sprinters ride a tad smoother, but I am sure that is due to them being tubulars.
