Who the heck wants to read about a DNF?

Ummm, I do.  I learn a lot more from those that struggled and had problems than from those that breeze through the races without issue.

Can you post a link please?

I posted mine.  Not my best work, but I am sore, tired and just wrote what I could.

On a side note, after looking at the results, If I would have gone as a clydsdale I would have gotten 2nd.  I am SO mad at myself for not doing that!

Not mention your tagline--

"To some extent, we are all labeled by what we're able to achieve. But more importantly, we are defined by what we attempt." --Scott Tinley

You attempted - that takes the most courage.  Sometimes not finishing makes you stronger than the actual "Ironman" title.

Don't worry- it will be.

It was great to be riding into Cross Plains, seeing a pirate laying on the ground with a sword wound, and having the other pirate yelling " I better see this in your race report". I couldn't figure out which BTer it was- now I know.

Great job on the support!!  I'll write the RR tonight.

YAAY that was me, both wounded and yelling! I was playing dead in order to get off my feet for a few minutes =)

I believe my exact words were "YAAAAAR I LOOK FORWARD TO READIN ABOUT ME IN YOUR RACE REPORRRRRRRRT"

And I had no idea any BTer would actually hear me say that, but this coincidence is astounding! YAAY BT!

Running2Far was the one in the huge mask. Photos soon.

The Cross Plains aid station was awesome. I had heard about it and it gave us all a boost to ride through there. Thanks for coming out to support us. I wish I had heard the RR comment. That's hysterical.

My RR is done, I'm just waiting for some photos from others so I can post a photo album at the same time. Should be up tonight.

Last night at the volunteer party, they gave an award to the "cleanest" aid station.  I don't think the Pirates got it but it was somewhere on the bike course, I believe.  And the best station went out to the run aid station by Lot 60 near the UW Hospital because all the volunteers wore or came close to wearing a Disney-themed outfit.

That would have been really fun to see you guys out there!

Man, I tell you where the cleanest aid station WASN'T: the one on the run on Mifflin between Wisconsin and State --right by the west end of the capital. R2F and I stopped to use the porta-pottys on our way back to our car and there was dookie all over the seat of the one I tried to enter. I backed away quickly. I get the whole urgent emergency pit stop during a marathon at the end of a very long day thing, so do not blame the poor athlete who left that.

GROSS, though, that was disgusting.

OMG I didn't know the Pirates were BTers!!!! I yelled Arrrghhh as I rode by. Clearly the best!

I never saw the disney themed station.... Where was I?

I thought the best run aid station was the one down on state street turn around. At least, that's where I felt the best, so I loved it!

Its the Chicago Tri Club aid station....we do a theme every year...its been Western (Cowboys), Diner (With a Big Boy), Christmas in Sept etc etc. We had over 50 people camping and working the aid station....Tons of fun!
