Shamrock Marathon - Run

Comments: Started easy and had some good splits for the first five or six miles, had a friend run with me for the first 13 miles, so that helped alot. There was also a marathon relay, so at the midpoint of the race I really wanted to be done, but I kept going :) Started to tire a bit around mile 18 to 20. I just kept plodding along; mile 25 was my hardest and slowest mile. What would you do differently?: Not much. I started out pretty much at my goal pace, I droppped off at the end, but I did my first marathon :) My goal time was 5:30 to 5:45, so I was right there ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked around on very tired legs. Had water, bagel and beer :) Watched a few more friends finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: I'm just a slow runner :) Event comments: I'm already thinking about the Marine COrps Marathon in the fall :) Last updated: 2005-01-22 12:00 AM

Up at 4AM, breakfast included water, coffee, bagel and PB, and a banana, I was also trying to remember to bring everything I needed for the race
Not much, I figured I'd use the first few miles to ease into the race
