What crazy-a$$ RD had you guys riding bikes in a river?

That makes me nervous just looking at it.  Kudos to those who make it through.

That doesn't even show the fact that that occurred on a decent sized downhill section as well. It was fun times, no doubt.

That could be a great motivational poster, like those ones with the black background and then "DETERMINATION" in white lettering at the bottom or something...

It continued to rain through the run too so it was a long, wet day.

Not only tough, but after all the DNFs on the swim, it made for a very lonely day out on the bike if you were in a later wave. I went miles without seeing another rider.

really? it was quite a Cluster-f*ck for the first 10-15 miles of the bike i thought. . really hard not to draft and passing a ton of people. . and i was in the last wave.  i don't think i ever was not around people

Well if you got to go off in the early wave, but were slow, like me, all those fast people caught up to me, so I had a nice crowd..........................till the run. That was a lonely stretch of highway for the 2nd loop.

But as mentioned, there were a lot of DNFs and DNS's so I don't feel so bad.  The thing is I seriously do NOT have the HTFU gene and I get stuck with the sucky weather.

Ah well.  Seriously, Boise is a great first timer race I think.  Great bike course, great run course.

Saw this great poster here in Jackson Hole as I finish out my western adventure:  "Confidence is that feeling you have just before you fully understand what it is you're about to do."

That was me a few days before the race, feeling all like, yeah, I got this, I trained, I'm good.  Hmm, not so much in retrospect.
