Friday might be possible for me. I'm concerned about that the traffic might be really bad the whole weekend.

I'm up for the OWS on Sunday at 8 and am planning an 8-ish mile run afterwards at a 10-ish pace if anyone wants to join

Forgot to say: I don't think traffic will be bad on Sunday.  Friday AM you might hit a little just because of the holiday but last week there wasn't any.  Since we are going to Sandy point, you can take the access road and bypass 50 if worse comes to worse.

The 5th is my birthday, and what better way to celebrate than going out to do a short swim, bike, and run with some fellow triathletes.   I may bring some things to grill afterwards(things for non-meat eaters too), because I saw what some people were cooking last Saturday and it looked pretty good.

I do say I got awfully hungry while swimming and smelling the good cooking!

Either Sat or Sun, but Saturday works better.

I can't do Friday because I have a long ride/ run already planned for that day.

I'd be up for getting/ bbqing some food after

Ill try again this week to make it. I did make it last week, but it wasn't until like 10.

Sunday sounds better to me. Anybody up for an eastern shore ride afterwards? Easton or Blackwater or something else flat?

I'm in for Sunday and either probably a run.  If we want to have a cook out I can help set up and cook for those who are riding.

I am such a newbie and I don't even own a wetsuit but I am seriously interested in learning how to do ows (never done that before).  I am planning to to irongirl and will attend their practice and I have one other practice scheduled but that is it.  If I can get my nerve up, I will join you.  Sunday works best for me.

BTW, I am slow.  Any other slow swimmers without wetsuits coming?

No, worries there are people of all levels and everyones willing to help you out.  You should come out, if you could swim at Sandy Point than you have nothing to worry about for Irongirl since it's in a lake.

It looks like Sunday is more popular...

I'd be up for a short (3-5 mi) easy run after the swim... I start tapering that day !

dah1ias, Get your nerve up.  You will really enjoy open water swimming.  Don't worry about not having a wetsuit.  The water is plenty warm.  And don't worry about being slow.  No one gets left behind.  I hope to see you this weekend.

It looks like Sunday is best for everyone.  Are we confirming Sunday at 8:00 am?

I'm definitely in for the cookout too   I'll bring some fruit salad.  I can help set up as well.  Should be done with the run around 10:15 then just hang out at the beach till all the riders get back (And try to get rid of this horrid shorts tan!!).

I'm assuming its going to be wicked crowded for the weekend, the people usually get there really early to get the best locations. I can hang out whilst you all swim...then someone can take over from there.

I'll bring fixings like ketchup, mustard, pickles, and plates, napkins and cups.

Guess we need to figure out who's: swimming at 8 am
                                                          riding
                                                          running
                                                          staying for cookout
Also, if you are staying for cookout what will you bring?  We will need charcoal & lighter fluid, plates, napkins, burgers/hot dogs, buns, condiments, chips, drink, salad, etc.

I will be swimming and running around 3 ish miles and can get things set up.  I'll bring a bean salad and maybe deviled eggs.

haha, I was actually trying to be organized and figure out who will be showing up and staying to eat.  I think we wouldn't completely set up until the runner's come back but you can find the best spot for us to set up   Since you will NOT be swimming with us.

Perhaps we could chain her ankle to the picnic table, so she doesn't decide to jump in the water with us and hurt her shoulder.

I'm making a list of things that I'll bring.
It's mostly everything, because I have a few friends coming at 1pm to hang out.
Here is the list so far:
Burgers/Buns
Hotdogs/Buns
Chicken/Buns
veggies/kabob sticks
charcoal/lighter fluid/lighter
tongs/spatula (not to be confused with thongs)
aluminum foil
trash bags
ice chest/ice
gatorades/waters
plates/napkins/forks/knives/cups
salt/pepper
olive oil (for veggies?)
lettuce/tomato/onion/cheese
condoments

frisbee/football

what am I missing?
