Subject: Shaved Legs - Cats out of the Bag

I hope this isn't too personal but here it goes (OK I am sure there are others out there who have done something like this as well; go ahead and admit it)....

I have never shared with my wife that I shaved my legs prior to my first Sprint Tri this past June.  I actually like the feeling and continued to shave them and keep them smooth.  Well she has never noticed nor asked about it.  This evening I found a brand new shaver (same one she uses to shave her legs) in my drawer in the bathroom.  So I just figured she knew, but didn't want to bring it up thinking I might get embarassed.  So, thinking she already knew, I brought it up to her that I shaved my legs and inquired if that is why she bought the razor that was in my drawer.  She kind of looked at me strange like and said "really, you do".  "Do all triathletes do that?"  Anyway the cats out of the bag and she said dang your legs are smoother than mine.  This is one TRIGUY who may never go back.

HahahahaGreat story. Doesn't sound like she was too over-the-top surprised though! Would have been funny to see her face though! My girlfriend still hasn't gotten used to me having smoother legs then her! Bahaha, in triathlon we call that a victory!!!

Good story. I shaved the first time a couple of years ago while the (now ex) wife was gone. Took a few days for her to notice. She never really was a fan but I find most girls actually kind of dig it.

I shaved my legs as a high school swimmer, there were some jokes made. As a triathlete though, my ex girlfriend hated it. She blamed it on the feeling that she had to "keep up with me," as far as having smoother legs than mine.

Is it cold where you are so you don't wear shorts all the time?  I am trying to wrap my brain around the fact that she hadn't noticed you shaved.  I am constantly checking out my husbands legs and feeling them in bed and I would notice IMMEDIATELY if he shaved.

I say if you like it and she likes it GREAT!  I like my men furry.  When I met my husband he had just done some modeling shoot where they had him shave his chest so when I met him he was bare - when I saw some stubble I asked if he planned to grow it in and he left it up to me.  I was so happy when his hair grew in.Laughing

KariKadi..

I am in Salem, Oregon - West Coast.  It gets a little cold in the winter but nothing like the other Salem on the East Coast.  Wear short all the time in the summer.  I am guessing when you have a very active 7 yr. old and a husband who's has been bitten by the TRIBUG you don't have much time for noticing these types of things.  She is OK with it as I know she also prefers a smooth face rather than stubble.

Yeah, have to admit it would weird me out if my bf shaved his legs. But he's not a triathlete, so I don't think I have anything to worry about. Guess I like my men furry, too. Well...my ex had a hairy back and that wasn't my favorite, but everywhere else is good. There are other areas I would not like to see shaved as well.

I shave for about 4-5 months of the year over summer when I'm not wearing leg warmers for cycling. I shave mainly for road rash and ease out of wetsuits and daaam it looks hot haha.

The rest of the year I let those bad boys go wild!!

It took my wife a while to notice as well. As for asking or sounding it out, just do it and find out the reaction afterward. A woman should probably not agree to this if she's been socialized in this country, but most can get used to it or appreciate it once it's done.

I would notice immediately if my Hubby shaved his legs.  He's pretty hairy (I like it that way) but a few weeks ago I shaved a patch of his leg so I could get a clean photo of his tattoo and I told him I thought he should shave them.  He's got some sexy definition under that leg hair!  There may be more women who would change their minds like me if we saw what we were missing.

1. I have not shaved since states for swimming in high school (just shy of 2 decades ago).

2. I cannot imagine shaving and NOT having my wife notice immediately. How does that happen?

OP Must not be very naturally hairy and therefore not receive such a significant speed bonus from it.

I'm portuguese so if I don't shave, I look like I have a bearsuit on my arms and legs.  It's more for heat management than for speed in the water.

But if you like it, keep doing it.

Love men with shaved legs if they have muscles!  Boyfriend in college was a cyclist and I used to do it for him.  That was a lot of fun, too.

I started shaving my legs after an acl surgery, so I could get my knee brace on easier, but I really liked the way it felt and kept it that way. Sometimes I get lazy and let it go, but it just feels cleaner that way. My fiance doesnt mind and she helps me with it.
