Subject: RE: is running with a bagpack bad for you?25 lbs will significantly increase the pounding on your joints, which seems like a good recipe for injury. I've heard of people running with weight vests, etc., but I believe that they tend to work up from quite low weights gradually, for precisely this reason. (I'm not endorsing anything here -- just noting. ) I've run to or home from work before. When I do, I plan things so that I don't have to carry anything with me. For example, I might stay at work an extra hour to do the work that on other days I might have taken home, then leave the laptop etc. in my office. (But my bad knee can hardly take the pounding of running at all, much less with extra weight. ) |
