Subject: Awkward everyday life moves caused by SBR trainingHave you ever looked stupid in everyday life because of tri training? I mean, at moments when you do not wear any neoprene, spandex or tech fabric and are not doing tri related activities? Here is an excerpt of my log, feel free to share any similar stories. Sometimes multisport athletes can do weird looking stuff in public... here's one. I was in the subway, coming back from work, wearing a suit, and was pretty much the only one standing so I figured I could keep one of the poles just for me in order to support my tired self. So, I was kind of hugging the pole to my right side and my arm was wrapped around it so I could keep on reading my Runners World. The train then suddently stopped, that pushed me on the pole pretty hard and the outside of my leg had a good rub against the pole. I instantly thought "OOOhhh what a nice IT band stretch that is!!!!". For a good minute or two, I kept on moving forward and back, rubbing on the pole, stretching that band, until I realized how awkward this move was looking! Man, did I look stupid!! Had a good laugh at myself. |
