Removing triathlon body marking?

Master 2460   |  Subject: Removing triathlon body marking?I was marked at my triathlon yesterday with a more indelible body marker - one that didn't wear off after the wetsuit swim (which usually happens.) I used isopropyl alcohol, soap, water, and even SimpleGreen, and it's not coming off. Any other recommmendations? |

Yeah, I never figured out why sometimes it washes off and is gone by the time you reach the finishline and other times, you can scrub with boric acid and a brillow plad and still can't get it off. Leaving it on is tacky....kinda like going to work Monday morning with your cover charge bar stamp on your hand. ~Mike |

How well I remember my first triathlon........and the RD giving all of us newbs specific instructions to put the marks on as thickly as possible. That way, he said, when you go back to work on Monday and everybody asks what the heck those marks are you can just casually say" Oh, I did a triathlon on the weekend....." as you walk away nonchalantly!! |

I actually know this because it was how we got bar stamps off of us after a pub crawl that required you to get a "passport" stamp. After the first three, they started to venture away from the hand. I have never tried that hard to get marking off of me from a race. Of course, I write my donors name on my open calf for every race, since she is the reason I am there anyway. |

I plan to cover mine with saran wrap so it will last forever!  but...I have had luck removing those sticky tatoos with baby oil. Might be worth a tri. Also fingernail polish remover usually works for everything. |

But the best thing is soap, a cheap washcloth, and elbow grease. I often go to the gym after a race and shower, and their less-than-soft towels really do the trick. Hasn't failed me yet! |

Toweled off and you see the "Negative image" in the mirror. I went sleeveless for the next 4 days, my wife said i was pretty insufferable. |
