So they are planning on sticking with the 70.0 or 69.9 or whatever poorly measured distance they come up with again?
Regardless, I'll be signing my wife us as soon as registration opens. She started talking smack about beating my time as soon as I finished last year, no back peddling now.
Well I WAS thinking about finally doing this one next year and then they went and scheduled it on the same day as Tri-ing for Children's. So probably not.

Interesting that they did change the race to the folloiwng weekend. Anyone know why?
I race Door County and they've been on the same weekend in the past. Hmm, maybe back-to-back HIMs this year?
It'd been my intention (since I missed this year) to do SOR in 2010. Then I had to get all engaged and plan to move before then. So, instead I will be doing Jersey State Tri Oly.
If they don't turn it into a 70.3 by 2011, I might come back for it, as I'm anticipating signing up for IMoo 2011.

I was NOT talking smack. I simply said that I thought I could do that! Geez, men!
How do you know it is not going to be a 70.3 next year? The SOR website has been down, since people started saying this event was purchased by Ironman.
I'm thinking of doing the HIM too. Will be a stretch at my current fitness level, but I have time to prepare, right? And a really dumb question, what is the difference between this and a 70.3 race? I'm lost.
I think some people were saying they didn't measure the course right and therefore it was slightly short. I heard that the swim was short for sure from several people.

(The website isn't working for me either.)
70.3 is just a trademark. World Triathlon Corporation organizes Ironman and Ironman 70.3 branded-events. 70.3 is the same distance as a half.
Hello All - I just had a meeting yesterday with Racine Tourism peeps and YES SOR will continue both distances and they are also adding IRONGIRL, women only half-iron distance tri.......well, waiting for contacts stuff to be finalized.

Now THAT would be interesting...that might be one women only event I'd be interested in.
Seriously - they're adding an Irongirl? Hm..... me thinks me may get free entry into irongirl division.....
I definitely want to do SOR this year, and I seriously hope it's not bought by 70.3, because I way prefer hammer gel to power gel (blech). Though HEED I can do without.
