Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Augusta : Official Threadlextriguy - 2009-12-01 10:21 PM I went down a few weeks before this years race to scoped out the course and actually rode the course and really enjoyed it. Since the swim is my achilles heel, I think that the river swim will help. I'm getting pumped!! If the swim is your Achilles heel, you're going to be in love with Augusta. I did the race last year and the swim was unbelievably fast with the current and wetsuits. I just kept smiling, and felt like I was cheating. They managed to space the waves out in a reasonable manner too, so I only got kicked in the face once or twice : ) The bike and the run are fast as well, although be prepared for a few hills on the bike (it's not as pancake flat as you might be led to believe ). A lot of the downhill sections are cut short with turns and stops. But best of luck with your training! |
