Subject: RE: Garmin 310XT and pairing with ANT+-HELP! I remember pairing my PT to the 310. There are very particular directions in the 310 instruction manual. I didnt have a problem with that part of the process. I do seem to recall that the wheel needed to be spun while synching with the 310 so that a signal was being projected. With no wheel in motion, no signal sent, nothing to sync. As for using it in the pool, I think all it can measure is the elapsed time. It won't get a signal indoors. And it won't get a signal under water. It is water proof for swimming. And it will measure elapsed time for a tri. But it won't measure laps or distance swum, even outdoors. For the problem uploading the data, I found that when it doesnt have a signal to work with, it really screws up the data load. There are some threads at Garmin.com that talk about various things. I've kind of given up using it indoors. My understanding is that they've improved the indoor functioning a lot since it came out. I've heard that they will exchange older 310s for newer ones with better software. I'm thinking I'll wait a bit longer to pursue that option. |
