Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() So the Big 12 conference is dissolving faster than sugar in warm water. Nebraska is off to the Big 10. Colorado just announced they are headed to Pac 10. So what does that mean for the remaining teams? Will the other conferences rename? some very interesting moves and quickly too. |

Here is why (just my theory ![]() Big Ten made their TV network and it was a big success generating massive TV revenues. SEC is following. Big 12 is not as big a TV market and can't compete so teams peel off to oin other conferences. Weirdest thing is that the Big 12 has great talent (Guess the conference where the 1st 4 NFL draft picks were from?), but it's all about the DOLLAR$. the numbers I was hearing was apx 11-12 mil to each team in the big ten from TV revenue.. Pac-10 was quoting numbers about TV subscribers... I didn't read anything about the actual teams, schools, just money, money money .. So I think you are dead on.. There was talk about the acedemics (AAU) which just means the players have smarter students doing thier homework for them ![]() |

Mountain West, anybody?![]() Big 10(11) is "supposedly" only offering two more invitations to join the conference and they are rumored to be Rutgers(WTF??) and Notre Dame. If they do Land Notre Dame that is HUGE. The money generated by that schools football team alone (even though we all know they suck) is ridiculous. I just wonder how they would get around the NBC contract? |

BOO I HATE THE ACC!!!!! |

There was something wrong with the link, but I was able to find it anyway. WOW, pretty shocking development. There was a little voice in my head saying that Texas, aTm, and OU would all go to the SEC in a last minute effort, but I NEVER thought they would split apart and certainly didn't think Texas and aTm would go to the Big Ten. I think that's a terrible match if it goes through. Texas, OU, and aTm to sec would be a DREAM conference. simply AMAZING. |

Expert![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() That is an WOW!! type development. That's a huge curve ball to what everyone is expecting. An interesting twist I read was that TX wants to hold the Big 12 together because they are the big fish. have the money, and have good control of the conference. If they go to the Pac 10, they will be a fish just like all in that conference and will not be in the driver's seat. Edited by Dr Hammer 2010-06-10 5:24 PM |
