Subject: RE: Timex IM Global Trainer vs Garmin 310XTFirst workout with the 310XT today (had an ocean swim, but opted not to get it wet just yet ). Performed great on long, hilly run. Went to auto pause a bit more, um, aggressively than my 205 would have on two sets of stair climbs up a bluff...was moving throughout both climbs and have it set to pause only at a full stop...guess I wasn't punishing myself on the stairs fast enough for its taste. ![](https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/smile.gif) Anyhow, the only thing that gave me grey hairs was getting the pairing set up for the wireless data upload after I charged it last night. Appeared not to be working and it took a lot of cursing before I discovered the default setting is for "pairing" to be "off." I have to access the Settings>Data Transfer menu and set that to "on" each time to upload. Otherwise, works great. Vibrating lap alerts took a little getting used to, but I like that feature...one problem with my worn-out 205 was that the audible tones were becoming less and less audible. |
