If the show is half as good as the trailer then I'm officially stoked!

I'm afraid zombies are the new vampires.

I already have the series set up on the DVR!  Woohoo!  I hear Jorge's winter cycling program works even better if you pedal while watching people being chased by zombies.

I keep waiting for someone to create the world's first Zombiathlon.  Swim, bike, run, all while being chased by volunteer zombies.  If you're tagged by a zombie, you become one yourself.  See how many can make it to the finish without being converted!

Add a bonus shooting range during transitions, where you use nerf rifles to kill as many zombies as you can in 60 seconds, or something.  :P

I told a buddy just the other day, " We are best friends an all that, but, If we ever get chased by zombies, I will kag your @$$ in a heartbeat, just so I can get away."

I don't think Zombies can swim...in the film 'Diary of the Dead' they kept a couple zombies in the pool because it was a safe way to keep them contained. They just floated around aimlessly.

however, in Zombi, A zombie and a shark fight underwater...

I am not worried about the ones that get in the water and sink or swim.  I have bigger fears.  Has anyone seen Poultrygeist?

In Zombie Wars they could if I remember correctly - or at least walk the ocean floor so the water would need to be deep.

This show was awesome, BTW.

Very good - however how much more can be done with Zombie movies/shows.

I really liked it but they really all do seem the same.

In WWZ, (the spin off)...yes, they still kind of walk on the bottom and floatish around.

The Walking Dead premier was the highest rated show in AMC's history. (Not all that difficult.)
But what was surprising is that it was the highest rated show on Cable tv so far in 2010. Beating things like HBO's Boardwalk Empire and any of the shows on USA, FX, TNT, etc.

The series was picked up for a second season even before the first epp aired.  Although the "first season" is only 6 episodes.

Finally watched it last night and was not disappointed. I'm a fan of the director, Frank Darabont. He seems to be the only one who do anything worthwhile with Stephen King material (Shawshank, Green Mile and The Mist).

I loved it and look forward to next week, Im glad it's signed on for another seasons I'll watch it until the end.

I liked it too.  I hope they don't get too much into some lame love story of some sort.  That ruins all the good films. 

I'm not a fan of B movies with campy scenes of teens trying to score and ending up getting killed.  I'm more interested in real people reacting to a disruption of life in a TEOTWAWKI scenario.  I liked the 28 Days and 28 Weeks Later movies but it would have been interesting to see how the people dealt with rationing food and water too. 

I am Legend was cool because those infected only came out at night, leaving food gathering in an abandoned city, open during the day.  They could make a spin-off of that to see how life was working outside of that environment though. 

Finally watched it on Monday...great episode. What I like about it is that it seems to delve into the emotion with the survivors.

Maybe I missed this, but does anyone know how long the cop was in the hospital?

I have not yet been able to watch the first episode (dang it kids, go to bed already) but the comic books were great.

I didn't catch that either.  It left me feeling like he was out for days, weeks, or even months (as though he was in a coma) but that's not realistic for his type of wound.  I'm guessing a day or two max but apparently a lot happened in that timeframe.  Also, I guess these zombies leave you alone if you lay over and play dead?  Otherwise, why wouldn't they have attacked him while he laid vulnerable in the hospital?

Question: Would you be able to pull trigger on your wife, kid, mom, dad, or another person you cared about who had turned into a Zombie.

I would like to think I would.
