Swim
Comments: When I turned after the second bouy, one of the kayakers must have been between me and the third bouy, because I couldn't find the third bouy. Looked for a bit, then decided to follow the other swimmers, figuring the kayakers and swim angels wouldn't let me get too far off course. Eventually found the third bouy, and got moving again. Got a bit off course after I rounded the third bouy, and one of the kayakers had to redirect me. What would you do differently?: Improve my sighting!!!! Transition 1
Comments: Ran the near quarter mile to my transition area. Changed pretty quickly. Trotted with my bike the near quarter mile to the bike start...we weren't supposed to run with the bikes. The start/finish was on a path, and the mounting area was pretty congested. What would you do differently?: Be older so my rack is closer to the start/finish areas!! Bike
Comments: Bike felt pretty good! There was one relatively steep, short hill, that worked me a bit. Bike finish was on a bike path that got pretty crowded. Ended up having to dismount a good distance from the designated dismount area because others had stopped well short to dismount. What would you do differently?: Need to work on hills a bit more Transition 2
Comments: Trotted the near quarter mile to my transition area. Someone had racked her bike right over my stuff, so I had to move her bike in order to rack mine. Otherwise, everything went smoothly! What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: It got a bit hot on the run, but I felt much better than I did in my previous race! Calves tightened a bit at the beginning, but loosened up pretty quickly. Picked up my pace during the last 1/3 of a mile, put in a good effort in the finish shoot, and thought I was going to get sick as I crossed the finish line. It was great! What would you do differently?: Nothing! Post race
Warm down: Walked around, talked with hubby and friends, ate some grub. What limited your ability to perform faster: Sighting issues. Event comments: Well organized race. A lot less crowded than the Danskin, and overall a lot more supportive atmosphere. A great race! Oh, and I took 10 MINUTES off my time from the Danskin!!!!!!! Last updated: 2005-01-25 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:30. Ate my oatmeal, filled my bottles loaded up the car, and got on the way! Got 2 minutes from the house, and realized we forgot the balloons and camera. Quick return trip, and we were off. Ate a luna bar on the way. Got to the race site at 5:45. Found the rack for my wave...about .24 miles from the swim entry/exit and bike start/finish. Set up my transition area, walked to the starts/finishes, ate another luna visited with my husband and friend. Tried to find other BTers, but missed everyone.
Quick dunk in the water and short swim.
