Subject: OCTOBER CHALLENGE?
I had an Idea.
Since everybody seems to be finishing up there races,
why not have a BT Sprint Triathlon Challenge?
It would be on a certain date say the 22nd or so and transitions would be at your own time.
No hours inbetween or anything just get out back to back to back.
So you could do it in your own pool 750 come home get on your bike and take off for 20, come home and run for 5. Not a biggie for transitions or anything, just be honest and get out as fast as possible. Nothing to win but pride of being the BT Sprint Champ.

What does everybody think?
Just an Idea that I had.

I’ve got an idea for October as well.

Strongly based on the AB-FAB challenge with a bit of fight club thrown in. Go out and get five co-workers to join you in a sit-ups challenge. The number of sit-ups start at a nice gentle 20 a day 5 times a week with a 10% increase each week. By the New Year everyone is doing 50 a day.

Here are my rules for the challenge:

  1. Contestants can do whatever type of sit up they want.
  2. Contestants do not need to do the daily total in one sitting.
  3. The forfeit for missing the weekly target is to buy the remaining contestants a Friday afternoon pint (drink of their choice).

Five of the first 6 people I asked agreed to do it. Let’s face it everyone wants flat abs. The other thing I like about this is it gives me an excuse to start at a nice low number, something along the lines of its only 20 a day to encourage everyone else to join in.

Anyone else up for this? Any rules suggestions? Together we can give the world washboard stomachs.

I like your idea of a BT world Triathlon as well Crazypop, although I could only agree to join in once you give a firm date.

I usually do 60-100 at a time anyway. I guess I could increase by 10% from there?

No co-workers to recruit, though - work at home.

No excuses newbiedoo, friends and family will do just fine.
I also should have said that the attachment is a simple wee spreadsheet with the 10% increments inplace.

Do we keep a record of what we are doing online with this attachment? Or should we print it and fill it out as we go?

I've just spotted the deliberate mistake in the spreadsheet. I'm working off 8 day weeks - oops. The first page has can be used to keep a tally on how friends/ family and colleagues are doing, I'm pinning it up at work. The second sheet has the same thing again but this time vertically, I've cut and pasted this into my short term goals and will keep my personal record here.
I can't see how to make this into a team challenge thing like the last couple. I work with eleven people and ten of them have now signed up to this ( the eleventh guy is under extreme pressure).

Well, nobody's doing anything, so I'm just gonna start today! I have one friend so far who's doing this with me.

I'm going to start at 75 - a mix of crunchies
My friend is starting at 20

I'm in too, for the ab challenge. I'm already at 120. I too work from home, but I think I have a few cohorts around the country I can get on board. THANKS FOR THE MOTIVATION!

What does crickets mean?
I hope to be up at your 70 a day in about 14 weeks newbiedoo. I have also recruited the 12th man (no nothing to do with cricket) so everyone at my work is taking part. It will be a big round for the first person to drop out. Good luck everyone that is taking part, official start day is tomorrow.

I'd really like to do this-it's such a cool idea.

Jeez, looking back I'm the only one who's really game. I guess it's just newbiedoo's October challenge! That's fine. I'll just log away and annoy ya'll with my posts!

It's me and you Newbiedoo. I did a small time shift and started on the first of the month. This is to allow the work colleagues to know when they've to buy the drinks. As a result the first weeks total has been reached already. Keep the posts coming.
