I am amused about Wolverines, Spartans and Buckeyes all working together....
What is that quote from Stripes (I think) about "mass chaos, dogs and cats living together..."
I can't remember it? Can someone help me with that? ha!

Regardless, we will win!!!

Gosh, I feel like a lightweight here.  But I guess I also know my limits.  I would hate to put down more time and miss my goal.

Just trying to get readey for my first Tri, following the Sprint plan.

Go BIG 10

One good thing about BT is everyone has their own level.  If I tried to keep up with those fit enough for Ironman competition, I'd get discouraged pretty fast!  The whole point it to challenge yourself to reach your goals - but I always read blogs from those alot more fit than I am and dream of that day......

Don't forget to have fun - it makes everything worthwhile!

Tam,

I understand, I just know myself.  Putting in miles in March is not unheard of.  But this is my first year of not JUST biking.  I have to allow enough running and swimming time.  In the past I would have been able to have done alot more miles on the bike.  Just spreading my time over all three is going to take more planning.

Setting a Bike Challenge goal for March is tough. Good weather and ambition (and the fact that I would rather ride than run or swim) and I would blow away my goal. Bad weather, and then my goal would be a good stretch - I can only do so much time on the trainer or all bundled up in rain and snow and cold when I have so much room for improvement in the pool or running.

So I posted a goal that matched my training plan I laid out at the start of the year and revised as I am preparing myself to put in a solid 20 week build to race.

Remember it is March 1 and in the words of Dick Vitale

IT'S SHOWTIME BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay - I'm in.  I have my first marathon in the middle of the month, though, so that'll limit my time.  Put me down for 8 hours, please!!

Alright, I guess I can change my goal. I will make it an even 330, or 5 hours and 30 minutes.  I think that extra 2 minutes shouldn't kill me.

Checking in from Michigan where it is raining, sleeting and snowing - at the same time.  Have you ever heard thunder while it is snowing?  Gotta love Michigan weather!  Looks like I will be spinning more then biking outside this week.

Oh, and I'm in for 8 hours if you all will have me!

Go Big 10 Team!!!

Yay - I'm not the only 5 hour person...I feel like a wimp, but I can't stand sitting on the stationary bike for extended periods of time. I need to get my old huffy 10 speed back out.

I would just do what you can, and what your mind will let you.  Don't over commit because when you do, it just causes problems.  I figure my training plan calls for 328 minutes, I have already ridden extra but not counting it yet.  I don't count my warm-up running or biking.  Just count the time that I am really working on my training.

Once the temps break, I will be outside riding, but that could be a week or 4.  I can ride down to 30's, but I don't LIKE to do that.  But I will likely get out and do some ANYWAY, just because I don't want to sit on the trainer all the time.  I need that wind in my face feeling, even if the wind is 42 degrees F.
