Team:

As the weekend is approaching, it is time to take a look at our mileage for the week ... the pace line for this point of the month is 75% of goal.

If you are below 75%, then you need to get your butt in the saddle and hump it!

It is this time in the saddle that you are going to rely upon (and fall back on) during the season.  Do yourself - and your team - a favor a get out there and ride like your hair is on fire!  (Locks of Love- girl Janelle, appropriate "hair" substitutions = )

I've only got 25.28 miles so far this week, so there are 25-30 tempo miles on the lunch menu today ...

Stupid (fun) vacation has slowed down my progress to 75%, but I still plan on getting all my time in. I would hate to be the reason we didn't win!

I should have left my goal at 400 miles. I am at 291 right now and I am doing a 75 miler on Saturday. I should hit my goal about 30 minutes into the ride.

If I don't hit my goal this weekend, it'll definitely be the beginning of next week.

I am really glad I joined this challenge. I know my miles don't seem like much to some of you, but I really feel like I have pushed a lot harder than I would have if I didn't have a team relying on me. Thank you. Now if I could just do the same for my run...

 Oh, GEAUX TIGERS!!!

(I am still in shock.)

I've been trying to play catch-up after that week; I'm allowed to ride my bike again, but have to keep the brace on. I'm at 610 min for the month to date, and 295 minutes for last week.

Seb:

GREAT news ... welcome back!  Huge rebound points on the board last week. Given that you were off a week due to injury, did you want to alter your monthly goal?  I'm nervous about you pushing yourself too much to reach your monthly number when you were out of commission for a number of days (we've got a long season in front of us).

Let me know etiher way.

Thanks.

WELCOME back Seb - good news from the new doc.

Team:

Week 4 totals above.  A bunch have either completed or are damn near complete with fulfilling their March Challenge Goals ... others? Well, let's just say that you have some serious time to spend in the saddle this week!

The time spent in the saddle this week is going to pay dividends this season.  When the doubts start to creep in your mind when on the bike during a race, think back to this early time you spent pedaling your rear off and know that you have already gone more than an extra mile or two to prepare for it!

Lastly, it is important to note that we have had tremendous participation from our teammates.  Taking aside our beloved Wookie, if you look at the numbers above, each of you has demonstrated terrific commitment to fulfilling your goals despite the cold snap, despite the rain and, in some cases, despite having to fight back from injury.

Now get out there and fly ... that is just so long as it is flying on two wheels for the next 5 days!

Thanks, friend ... and a big congrats to you for completing your goal - despite 40 days/40 nights of non-stop rain + the associated flooding.  It is tough to log in miles when you have to do 'em wet!

Good gravy, who knew that it rained so much in paradise?

With my last 2 rides left for the week, I'll meet my goal if I get in an extra ride of 37 minutes.  So I'm commuting to work tomorrow to get in an extra 1 hour ride, which will put me OVER my goal for this month!!  I can't wait to exceed my goal!

Wow! We already have almost half of the team at 100% of their goal ...

Alan (Atree)
Kyung (BrilliantJoy)
Chris (CBOST2678)
Scott (Oneword)
Mark (PER6594)
Brett (Rocketman)

Also keep in mind that we stand a solid chance of winning this thing.  Remember that the winning team is the one with the highest percentage of participants that complete their stated goal ... we only have one team member that is certain not to make their goal and we have a rather large team, meaning that the math could be on our side IF WE ALL COMPLETE OUR GOALS.

I hope to log much if not all of the ~32 miles during lunch today so...

GO TEAM GO!!!

Okay, Team, I went out for a second ride yesterday in an effort to knock out my goal ... and, as irony would have it, I returned 0.31 miles short of achieving the goal.

I used the early evening ride as a hammerfest session - averaged over 19 mph in rush hour traffic (which is smokin' fast for me) - and think the oxygen deficiency got the best of me.  I suppose it pays to pay attention to the @#$% stupid decimals!

I'll knock-out the remain <1 mi at some point today!

RIDE,

Wait a min- I just realized something.  I'm feel so dumb!  The end of the month is tomorrow, not this weekend.  Which means, I have to get in 2hr40mins rides by the end of tomorrow.  YIKES!  Ok- let me rearrange my training schedule to accomadate that!

I'll commute to work tomorrow to get in an 1 hour.  And then I can do my long ride after work tomorrow for 2 hours and then I'll be good!  Or I can ride my bike this evening for 4 minutes, and then do my long ride tomorrow.  Either way, I'll meet my goal!!
