WRONG! Never done it and I think it's disgusting!

The water in the pool is replaced over a the course of a whole year and only due to evaporation. Mechanical filters can only remove hairs and dirt while the urine remains in the water until the pool is emptied.

Maybe what you mean to say, anyone lacking basic education does it.

I'd give it a very tired 1.  The last pee thread hasn't even died down yet. 

That's complete BS. I swam age group and HS, my wife swam that and was a D-1 swimmer through college. Never peed in the pool - either of us (I just asked her). 

Grow up. 

I am relatively new to the sport and after having done each discipline seprately, I have decided to train seriously for a number of events including an Oly in 2013. So I decided to educate myself as much as possible, hired a swim coach, and joined BT. I have read a number of posts and articles and have found the information to be really helpful and the encouragement that many of the BT members have offerred has served as good inspiration. For that I thank you.

I must say, though, that I was an am at a loss for words about the notion of your peeing in the pooly unabashedly. I feel embarassed even with the thought of peeing in the pool while I do a workout and having others swim in my own waste. I don't care what chemicals kill what. Obviously you are not lazy, so the only explanation is that you simply do not care. Do you cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough into your elbow? I know that my thoughts on this, as well as the feedback from others, may fall on deaf ears, but to use an analogy - if multiple people tell you that you are drunk, its time to lie down.

This thread, along with a few others that come to mind, is a good indication that one does not need to be particularly bright to participate in triathlons.
